Great overall performance at a reasonable price. Very efficient and clear highs.
Weaknesses:
Modest bass response, but they're only 6 1/2's--that's why subs are made.
Review:
I was looking for front speakers in the ~$75 range, when I discovered these 6 1/2" Polks. For that money- there is no better speaker. The highs are clean but not harsh and the materials/quality of construction is what I've come to expect from Polk products- very good. They truly are efficient speakers. I haven't swapped the factory radio for my high end CD changer yet, and these Polks are LOUD using just the factory radio!

High quality speaker for the price. Also, 5yr warranty where I bought them (Fry's Electronics) is unbeatable. The multiple mounting holes are nice... they just slid into the factory cutout. Sound remains crisp even when the volume is cranked.
Weaknesses:
None so far. Add a subwoofer and let these babies handle the mids and highs for maximum potential.
Review:
I just installed these speakers in my '86 F150, and they're awesome! Excellent high- and mid-range sound with decent bass - not to mention that they are loud! I don't have an amp in my truck, and with these speakers I don't need one! Great performance by themselves, and I'll bet that with a subwoofer to handle the bass they would hold their own against anything.

Near plug and play fit. Dramatically improved performace with all types of music - no more muddy response from OEM speakers. Materials appear more rugged and durable than OEM.
Weaknesses:
Requires nearly full power from my 15W X 4 OEM audio system to attain maximum fidelity.
Review:
A near spectacular transformation from my 4 Clarion 15/30W dual-cone OEM speakers in my 1998 Nissan 240SX. No need to upgrade any other part of the stock audio system. Well worth the time, effort and money to upgrade.

Can handle a good bit of power. Very clear at all volumes. A decent amount of midbass, more than I expected.
Weaknesses:
*not really weaknesses* Rattled loose in their wells, getting to these speakers in my car is a nightmare. Subs would greatly complement these.
Review:
Just installed 4 of these into my Camaro. They're powered by a Fosgate 62.5wx4 amp. Wow is all I can say. I can crank these things up so loud it hurts even outside of the car and they are still crystal clear. I'm very impressed with these. Definatly not a better speaker out there for the money in my opinion.

really loud and impressive bass
Weaknesses:
a little distorted and maybe u could say they shake my car a little too much
Review:
I love these new speakers. They get better as you turn up the volume. I installed 4 into my sedan and the whole thing shakes. I was nervous about not having an amp or subs but these things plus my entry-level pioneer CD-radio unit are great and it would be a waste of money to buy an amp and subs if u are a normal person who likes there music. I'd buy a few more if i had the $ and put them in my roommates car.

Great fit nice improvement in midbass performance.
Weaknesses:
none yet
Review:
Major improvement over the 3-way pioneers I had in my truck before. If these don't sound good in your vehicle your head unit sucks!!!!!

Well built, clear highs and kickin mids. I have 2 12's in my car, so I need the highs and mids badly.
Weaknesses:
Only thing I can think of is when I was installing them, the surround went right next to the screw slots I had to use to mount them. If you dont use a washer it causes the surround to twist and I was afraid it was going to tear. Turned out fine though.
Review:
I just put some in my Camaro Z28. They really improved the mids and the highs. Their clarity is outstanding, at almost any volume. I have a JVC KD-SH99 head unit and these speakers makre it really shine. I like these speakers, by far the best bang for the buck out there.

Detailed, but not harsh highs, tight bass.
Weaknesses:
Took some jury-rigging to fit my Corolla.
Review:
I bought these for $25 on ebay since one speaker had the plastic tab that holds the speaker wire connection broken in half. A little epoxy and some electrical tape and they're as good as new. These replaced the rear deck speakers on my 93 Corolla. The difference over the old factory speakers is huge! Bass is tight with no boominess, midrange is natural sounding, highs are detailed without being harsh. There's none of the boom-and-sizzle sound that's so often found in car audio. I had auditioned a pair of Infinity 6.5" that cost quite a bit more (list pricing) than these, and found them to have a thin midrange and waaay too much treble. These Polks are a great deal new, and a steal at the price I got 'em for. I'm getting a pair of these and the 6x9 version for my sister's Camry.

Bass, Midrange, Highs sound great. The PEI tweeter makes the sounds of my highs sound crisp. And with the 6 1/2 size speakers make the bass and midrange and vocals too sound perfect. Also quality and the look of the speaker is great!
Weaknesses:
The only weakness I would say for these speakers are that there are no weaknesses for these series of speakers. If you need higher quality or more wattage , then upgrade to the higher models of polk audio speaker components.
Review:
These 6 1/2 Polk Audio GXR6 sounds great in my Honda Passport. Getting 2 pairs, 1 for the front side door and 1 for the rear side door, makes the sound speakers sound plain. Upgrading to these make the sound quality much better. Fitting these in the front side door panels were alittle problem but I got them to fit. But fitting these in the rear side door panels, fit perfect. I also have the GRX4 for the rear speakers which I gave review on for those. But one thing, my rear's needed a 5 inch size with a 4 inch whole setting, but I still love it.

Superb value for the price and easy installation. An instant upgrade to any "factory" setup.
Weaknesses:
None at all, unless you are looking for an insane amount of power handling you will need to move up.
Review:
Snapped up 2 pair of these for my 2001 Honda Civic as I was growing tired of substandard factory equipment in the vehicle. These now sit in the doors and rear deck powered by a Clarion Pro-Audio head unit and the difference is huge! All I was looking for was more power and cleaner sound which was something clearly not delivered by any factory radio. And since I was extremely pleased with Polk equipment in my home theater setup, figured I'd give the car audio a try as well. Once again, Polk delivers!
