Tuner sensitivity, even with AM loop. Speaker range is good. Presets for up and down make tuning easier.
Weaknesses:
CD laser probably out of adjustment, a real disappointment. Hopefully, the new unit will perform properly. An amended review will follow replacement.
Review:
I bought the HDX3 from Radio Shack. The tuner is really sensitive. I can pick up Cincinnati and Dayton FM with a good outside antenna. The AM does a good job, too. The CD player, however, has no sound from the left channel. I am supposed to be exchanging it for a new unit this Thursday, and I will test the receiver/CD before bringing it home. The speakers are very good, with nice bass, and good highs.

I came across my HDx3 at my local radioshack. As soon as I heard this I was immediately impressed. To compliment the highs I added a polk psw 10 subwoofer. After doing so i have the perfect system.I would absoulutely reccomend to anyone intrested in a small but big sounding micro system.Always entertains all my social events and gatherings.

Great sound and super HD signal reception. Easy set up for initial use.
Weaknesses:
CD player should play MP3s and WMAs.
Review:
A very nice system for an office or small room. Plenty of great sound from the speakers which seem to be well balanced in their output. Bass is present in sufficient quantity without being overdriven to the point of "thumpiness". The controls are simple and self explanatory. The tuner is the most sensitive I have found for HD signals, even better than the I-Sonic which outshone it's peers. I didn't even have to stretch out the wire dipole antenna to it's full length! The CD player works well and there is even a shuffle command on the remote.

HD works well and FM receiver is excellent.
Weaknesses:
AM with supplied antenna not as good as other radios I have.
Review:
I had read some bad things about HD radio not being worth it. They are nuts! I listen to a local PBS AM station a lot but it has the normal AM noise and am not always able to pick it up. The transmission is now sent with the FM multicast and it sounds great. I have never heard it so clearly. HD locks in well. This radio has a super FM receiver. It picks up a station very well about 45 miles away that is only marginal to good on my non-hd BA Recepter. The downside is mediocre AM reception with the supplied antenna compared to the Recepter and other radios I own.

Excellent sound, smooth quick transition to HD
Weaknesses:
Very heavy for a small system. Limited adjustments via EQ.
Review:
The sound on this system is excellent. The speakers are perfectly balanced for my office. And the improvement of HD over analog is truly amazing! I've had to play with the antenna a bit - I'm about 35 miles from my favorite stations' transmitters. The one AM I tend to listen to is closer - its HD syncs up almost instantly with no antenna at all! I've wanted an HD radio for some time and have listened to several - I'm glad I held out for this one!

HD Radio, MP3 sound, ease of use.
Weaknesses:
CD Player hissing.
Review:
This is a great little system. I wanted something that would fit into a corner and not dominate the looks of the room, yet still had great sound. I am using it with my Polk powered subwoofer and that made a huge difference, yet it's still pretty small. The HD is great, and Ipod/MP3 players sound really good. My big disappointment is the CD player. It has a hissing sound. I took it back to Radio Shack and they swapped it with another unit which sounds about the same. Polk tech support was not helpful, so I guess I'll live with it. Someone out there could probably make a lot of money with a system like this that comes with a good CD player and a subwoofer.

Great sound, small but powerful. I love the weight of the system and would highly recommend this to anyone.
Weaknesses:
I wish you could dim the blue light at night.
Review:
I stumbled across this when looking for a small bedroom set. I was very impressed with the sound and with the quality of the HD radio. Once I put in a favorite cd I was sold. Radio Shack had only one left and I usually don't buy the floor model but this was terrific deal. Bestbuys had nothing in this price range that comes close.

HD radio is awesome! iPods connected to AUX port sound fantastic. Great price! Radio Shack had some holiday specials around 60% off retail!
Weaknesses:
TERRIBLE CD PLAYER. Verges on totally non-functional. This might explain the great pricing.
Review:
Can't say enough good things about the HD tuner. The speakers with this package sound fantastic. I had friends looking for a non-existent subwoofer! Great sound, great price. That said, the bad news is that the CD player is a total wash! It takes a long time to que up discs. If and when it finally manages to "load" a disc, often one channel is completely dropped out. Very erratic, very frustrating, very disappointing. Other reviewers have mentioned the same problems so me thinks there is no good solution forthcoming from Polk. All said and done, the HD radio and speakers is worth the price. Just try to pretend there is no CD player included

Excellent reception of HD and regular signals. Sound is excellent from the included speakers.
Weaknesses:
At this price point it's hard to find fault.
Review:
For a tabletop radio/CD player this unit provides excellent sound and performance. I bought this unit because the type of music I like is only available on HD Radio in my area. The radio's ability to lock onto the HD signals is excellent IF you have a decent antenna. The folded dipole antenna included is OK if the signal is strong but adding a better antenna (Terk - under $10) really improved the radio's performance. There is a subwoofer output that I may use later but the sound is excellent even without it.
