Small In-Wall, Big Performance
Go more places, do more things, with the smaller LC65i built-in loudspeaker. Build a complete stealth sound system, extend your current sound system into previously uncharted spaces in your home, or just add the unobtrusive convenience of built-in surround speakers to your traditional LSi Series home theater system.
LC65i Features:
Paintable grilles let you build them in, and then forget all about them; LCi Series practically disappear into any room.
Enhanced, reengineered ring radiator tweeters extend top-end response for incredible details, with a 15° swivel housing for direct high frequency control and excellent imaging even in off-axis listening positions.
Our aerated polypropylene cone is the ideal balance of lightweight stiffness (for more efficient action with less distortion-causing flex) and superior damping properties, for spectacular midrange clarity and punchy bass.
Polk Audio’s proprietary, patented Dynamic Balance® technology allows our engineers to design out distortion-causing driver and system resonances, so you only hear the good sounds.
Lightweight, rigid driver baskets constructed of specially engineered composite materials keep moving parts in rigid alignment and damp performance-robbing resonances for better performance in shallow space installs.
Easily accessible custom audio controls allow you to tweak your sound for optimum performance in any installation: Use the reflective room (tweeter) compensation switch to digitally compensate for harsh reflective surfaces, and the wall distance setting toggle to compensate for proximity to corners or adjacent walls.
PowerPort® bass venting is Polk Audio’s patented design for smoothly transitioning the air flow from the port into your listening area, eliminating turbulence and distortion, for bigger, more efficient, deep bass impact.
Rustproof stainless steel hardware and powder coated aluminum grilles make LCi Series speakers suitable for high moisture areas like bathrooms, transitional spaces or even under eaves or in the ceiling of an enclosed porch. (LCi Series are not suitable for exposed outdoor use. For outdoor speaker fun, use our Atrium® Series.)
LCi Series speakers are timbre-matched to Polk Audio LSi Speakers to insure utterly seamless blending from speaker to speaker in systems that combine traditional and built-in speakers.
LCi Series speakers are packaged one-per-box, so you can use singles as front or rear center channels, or as additional-zone speakers anywhere.
Easy one-cut, drop-in installation puts built-in audio within reach, with Perfect Fit templates, a precision flange, and (available) pre-construction brackets; achieve secure, vibration-free efficiency with a simple turn of the patented Rotating Cam system.
All Polk Audio products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk Audio loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

Realistic, beautiful, dynamic sound; nice-looking; very well-made.
Weaknesses:
None.
Review:
These are my second set of Polk in-walls. (The older ones will become channels 6 and 7 when I get around to wiring them). I was installing a new recess-mounted Panasonic plasma and wanted to do things right, so I took out the wall and completely rebuilt it. Inside and outside walls are now lined with Dynamat, which completely eliminates sound transmission into the drywall. I have the three speakers mounted left of, right of, and below the monitor. The one below the TV has the woofer on top to be more level with the others and the tweeter is angled up to ear level. The speakers are powered by a Denon 4306 receiver and the digital source is a Denon 5900 universal player. Deep bass is provided by an SVS subwoofer. All I can say is that the sound is stunning and sounds much "larger" and more natural than before--even in plain stereo. It is open and three-dimensional, instruments sound like the real thing, and the level of detail and realism is stunning. The dynamic impact is excellent. I hear live instruments nearly every day and regularly go to concerts, so I know the real thing when I hear it--these speakers produce as close to the real thing as I have ever heard. I have heard systems costing close to $100,000 that don't sound this good. Movies also sound great, but my prime interest is music. I don't know how Polk does it at these prices, but with this company you get high end sound without any high end BS.

Review:
Great speakers! Sound is exceptional, with deep basses and good highs. Everyone is able to hear every aspect of a movie sound track, people actually discover new sounds in movies they have seen before. Installation was a snap, just had to poke with a wire hanger an in-between-stud location behind sheetrock. I am using these speakers in 7.1 configuration with a pair of LC60i as four surrounds and three LC265i as center and front stereo speakers. I even ordered custom entertainment center to custom fit the LC265i as center speaker. I spray painted the speaker grille to match the custom furniture. The whole config is perfect, the best sound system I have managed to setup to date, and I had setup many before. P.S. I opted for "Better sound" config when installing the in walls. I cut a whole in sheetrock and then installed some 1x4 fire walls between studs to create air enclosures. I used Monster XPHP wire and the system i driven with Onkyo tx-sr803 receiver.

Tweeter. Imaging. Look cool in wall.
Weaknesses:
A little bit too much money. A pair of bookshelf speakers with similar drivers, and a real wood veneer cost less.
Review:
I did not like these at first. They were harsh and the bass was not what I expected. I gave them a couple of days and I am not sure if they "broke-in" or I "broke in", but they really do sound sweet. The bass is decent for a 6.5 inch woofer, but the tweeter is what really shines. The whole concept of hearing parts of one's music that were never heard before is now a reality, and the imaging is fantastic. I used the performance enclosures to ensure consistent sound, and I think for in-wall applications they are a necessity-especially for music-only types. The whole set-up was expensive. Maybe a bit too much so, but I guess that to get something good, that you need to pay. If you are going this far get the performance enclosures, and maybe upgrade to the 265 model which has two 6.5 inch drivers. At least listen to them. I can't regret what I don't know, but maybe the upgrade would add to the bass. A subwoofer might make more sense. Enjoy. These are nice. Mike Johnson Bar Harbor, Maine

easey install good looking frame with acurve @ top & bottom that gives a soft look .
Weaknesses:
when painting the grilles be very careful removing the cloth or they will leave fuzz behind .
Review:
I've sold & installed several pairs of these LC-65i speakers . I was first impressed by how big and open they sounded , more like a free standing monitor . I've used dynamat products along with some good old owens pink insulation to help out with the walls unwanted resonances & had great results .150 watts per speaker nets a nice dynamic range .

Highs, mid-range, and better than expected bass. Easy to install, excellent build quality, nice banana style plugs. I painted mine and the frame accepts paint very nicely -- included is a paintguard -- makes it a cinch.
Weaknesses:
The plastic clamps that grab onto the drywall are VERY tight as you screw them down -- make sure you don't strip the philips screws as you tighten them -- very easy to do. Otherwise, solid build.
Review:
I'm impressed. I'm am audiophile that was looking for a nice compromise between aesthetics and a non-obtrusive hometheater speaker system as well as some decent sound for my front channels (I currently have a CSi3 Polk as my center, a Sony 5.1 receiver). I was very pleased with how these sounded. Most in-walls I demo'd at retail stores lacked any bass what so ever, however, these actuall had some decent midrange and a nice little bass kick. Now, don't get me wrong, this isn't the bass you'll hear out of a standing tower or bookshelf speaker, but it's fairly impressive for an in-wall. The highs and mid-range shine for most genres of music that I listen to (rock, jazz, lounge, electronic) and these speakers work beautifully for 5.1 home theater. They match the CSi3 very nicely. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and re-affirm my affinity for Polk audio products.

"My immediate impression was how airy the sound was, spatial and full."
"I especially liked the LC65i for a center channel, it surprised me in fact, how intelligible and perfectly natural voices sounded. Usually I'm straining to hear detail from the center channel at lower volume levels (in consideration of other people at home). Not so with the Polk, the unit was excellent at low volume."
"At higher volumes, the LCi was especially crisp... I found music and movie sound reproduction tight and accurate."
"... the LCis really shine in the midrange. They have clean rich tones, and a wonderful layering of instruments and sounds. Moving around the room, I noticed very little directional differences (off-axis)."
"The next time a home owner suggests in-wall speakers for a project, I won't wince as I usually might. Polk Audio made that happen...Polk has forced me to take seriously in-wall designs as true high performance speakers."
