The Flagship Floorstanding Polk Audio Loudspeaker
"The LSi is for the serious listener; the person who really enjoys music, who sits down and intently listens to his stereo system. This person could be a serious home theater enthusiast, too. They want to hear every detail a movie soundtrack has to offer. There's no question these speakers play loud, but the LSi Series is for the listener who is more interested in quality over quantity."
- Matt Polk, Founder, Polk Audio
Here is superior musical accuracy and serious theatrical impact in one beautiful, high tech loudspeaker. Here is the sound of life, live on stage, realistically imaged and projected with no coloration. Here is wide, deep, whispers and explosions, with all the bells and whistles. Here is clarity, with low resonance and no distortion. Here is high definition audio. Here is the heart & soul of the Polk Audio sound in a commanding floorstanding performance.
Built-in Powered Subwoofer
Low level line (filtered) and LFE (unfiltered) subwoofer inputs access the 10" built-in powered subwoofer, powered by a clean-running 150 Watt internal amplifier, which allows the LSi25 to deliver truly astounding, ultra-dynamic full-range performance.
Ring Radiator Tweeters
The ultra-high performance Ring Radiator Tweeter is found on ultra-high end, luxury-priced speakers. We've brought the Ring Radiator down to earth for your enjoyment. In the LSi Series, you will experience its precise accuracy, meticulous detail and extended, low distortion frequency response at a fraction of the price.
Dynamic Balance Aerated Polypropylene Drivers
Why does the LSi Series sound so warm and natural? It's what they're made of that matters. Aerated Polypropylene is stiff on the outside, for excellent transient response, but "light & chewy" on the inside, providing light mass with importrant damping qualities. Using our patented, laser-based Dynamic Balance process, we've eliminated areas of resonance on the cone in the planning stages, so bad sounds never make it to the final product. As a result, the LSi Series sounds like a Polk Audio loudspeaker should: realistic, transparent, wide and embracing, with no distortion even at lifelike volume levels.
Cascade Tapered Array
This advanced crossover configuration works with the multi-driver array to deliver wider dispersion and greater midrange accuracy. The LSi Series reveals realistic sound, even in off-axis listening positions, and improved image focus and detail.
Mirror-Imaged Pairs
The LSi Series is not just single-design speakers tossed together in pairs. We've engineered them to be mirror-imaged pairs, with specific Left and Right designations. Mirror-imaging the pairs produces astonishingly tight focus and truly arresting three-dimensional imaging with minimized room reflections. Your audio opens up, naturally.
Cast Aluminum Driver Baskets
Rigid Cast Aluminum Driver Baskets resist flexing and "ringing" for ultra-tight bass and coloration-free midrange.
Non-Resonant Braced Piano Gloss Enclosure
Superior workmanship is plainly evident in the furniture-grade piano finish of each LSi Series speaker. It's a loudspeaker that lives up to its reputation for classy presentation, and blends well with traditional or modern decor. Inside, the enlosure is extensively braced with heavy duty MDF and damped with professional damping material. No energy is lost in unwanted cabinet resonances, for smooth, untarnished reproduction of even the most extreme audio. Next time you meet them, give them The Knuckle Test (knock, knock!) and feel the solid, non-resonant build quality.
Real Wood Veneer Panels
They look great, and serve a purpose, too. These solid, non-resonant, 1.5"-thick heavy duty panels reinforce the enclosure's solid quality, helping it remain totally and more efficiently acoustically inert. Choose beautiful natural Cherry Wood or Ebony Wood finishes to complement your home. (LSiC & LSiF/X models available in Black Gloss only.)
PowerPort Bass Venting
Floor-coupled on Floorstanding models, traditional rear-firing on other models, the patented PowerPort Bass Venting System smooths the big moving air turbulence at the mouth of the speaker's bass port, effectively enhancing deep, musical bass response and aiding over-all full-range blending between frequencies. Bass response in the LSi Series is efficient, precise, natural, unimpeded by distortion. This is lifelike bass you can feel all over.?
ARC Port
LSi Series speakers overcome the midbass "boominess" that can make vocals sound unnaturally "chesty" with another patented technology: Acoustic Resonance Control. The ARC Port is a separate port coupled to the bass port and tuned to supress the internal cabinet resonances that can interfere with high performance audio reproduction. You will hear clear, resonance-free midrange and more accurate vocal reproduction in the LSi Series. (Available on all LSi Series models except LSiF/X, where there's less call for accurate vocal reproduction.)
Magnetically Shielded
All models of the LSi Series are engineered to be safe when placed near sensitive AV equipment like monitors or TVs. (Available on all LSi Series models except LSiF/X, which never goes near your TV anyway.)
Premium Crossovers
High performance materials minimize the need for electronic manipulation of audio reproduction (that is, the LSi Series sounds great from the start), but we've designed a high performance crossover system to boost performance just that much more. Premium components, like Mylar Bypass Capacitors, extend and flatten responses, especially in the higher, detail-oriented frequencies. You will discover musical details you've never heard before, even in your favorite high performance digital audio.
Low Diffraction Grille Design
The unique open architecture design of the acoustically inert LSi Series speaker grille never gets in the way of the sound.
Gold-Plated 5-Way Binding Post Connectors
Dual (bi-ampable) gold-plated 5-way professional binding post connectors give you maximum signal transfer and the most secure professional connections.
Adjustable Footing
Floorstanding LSi Series models feature precisely engineered footing options, interchangable Non-Skid Leveling Feet or Carpet Spikes, for the ultimate stability on any type of floor. More stability equals more efficiency, less energy wasted, and more pronounced performance.
Perfectly Matched to LCi In-Wall/In-Ceiling Speakers
Designed with the same high performance components, including the Ring Radiator Tweeter and? Aerated Polypropylene Drivers, the LCi Series of built-in loudspeakers can be used to complete or extend a traditional system of LSi Series loudspeakers. Add built-in surrounds to a home theater system, or add second-zone speakers to a music system. LCi Series built-in loudspeakers deliver the same incredibly warm and natural LSi sound in a speaker series that can virtually disappear into your decor.
Famous Polk Dependability & Durability
Like all of our products, the LSi Series uses only the best materials coupled with the most advanced manufacturing techniques on the planet. All Polk products must pass a battery of the most physically strenuous and exhaustive performance tests in the industry, including drop testing and extreme signal response testing. Polk Audio loudspeakers are proudly built to perform for a lifetime.

Review:
I made sure I waited a good month before leaving this review, I have read many of the others that were left here, and I'm not sure I can add all that much to what's been said. I gave the LSi25s plenty of time to break in, and I have come away extremely impressed. Had a pair of Definitive Tecnology BP7002s prior to auditioning the LSi25s, and while I loved the bass the 7002s kicked out, the lack of clarity at higher volumes really bothered me. High volume with the 7002s would bring listening fatigue very quickly, as they are a bright speaker and showed it at high volumes. After listening to these with all types of music from metal to classical to jazz to classic rock, they have shown through on all material. I find myself listening to all my old CDs and LPs just amazed at how different they sound. I am always picking out instruments and sounds that I had never noticed before in the background. Soundstage is excellent, at times it seems like singing is coming from my center channel. There are times when I sit back listening and it seems like the speakers aren't even there. I am constantly amazed at the low price vs. great sound that I get from speakers. I had been considering a set of B & W speakers, I really liked how refined and clear they sounded, but I believe the Polks give them a run for their money and at nearly a third of the price. Polk has a real winner here, they may have just gained a customer for life. Hope the LSi series sticks around for a long time! One note, as has been stated by others here, these need power! I feed them with a 400 watt continuous per channel two channel amp and they don't even stress. Many have stated that these are smooth and detailed. I totally agree. I never really understood what was meant by that until I listened to these Polks. Very transparent detailed sound. Beautiful wife friendly cabinets. Adjustable Subs can warm up a bad recording or tighten up for the good ones.

4 ohm impedance. 88DB efficiency. Super loud music lovers(Yes Ear Damaging)may want more volume.
Review:
Thanks Polk! For making an Awesome, Magnificent sounding Great looking speaker that I didn't have to mortgage my house for. I have been shopping speakers for years and these are in the same league as the big boys. When I say big I mean cost. Even at MSRP they are a great bargain. This is my first Polk product and I am hooked. I listen to Every kind of music and it all sounds awesome on these. Anyone who gave these a negative review has me wondering what their equipment is upstream. These are truly audiophile speakers. Polk has really done it right!!

I am amazed of the level of performance of these speakers at this price point. I listen to jazz, gospel, and classical; the details that are revealed are amazing. I have not experienced any listening fatigue from these speakers like I have with many of brands costing three times as much! Good Job on the LSI 25's!!!

smoothness and natural.
Weaknesses:
Boxy sounding. Music never really leaves the speaker. Sub lacks musicality. Too laid back sounding for me.
Review:
These are probably the smoothest sounding speakers I have ever heard at any price range. These speakers display no harshness what so ever. Sometimes I actually wonder if they are too smooth, which could ultimatley make a speaker boring or dead sounding. I actually compared these to the new $2200 definitive technology bp7002's side to side in my own room. They had a completley different sound from one another. The def techs definatley had a more alive sound and was quite a bit more open and room filling. You coulden't exactly tell where the sound was comming from which is a good thing. The polks had a much more laid back sound and not as open. You could tell that the music was comming right from the speaker. But the polks sounded much more natural and smooth. The subs on the def techs actually blow away the subs on the polks. I am not too impressed w/ the polk subs. The def techs are much more tight and controled where as the polks are more boomy and lack musicality. You probably want an seperate sub w/ these. If I could combined the strong points on the def techs (openess, more alive sounding) with the strong points on the polks (naturalness and smoothness) I would have a true high end speaker. Another thing, people have been saying over and over agian don't use a reciever w/ these. I have been using a Denon avr-5700 140wpc reciever and they power these w/o a sweat. I can play these extreamly loud w/o any distortion and the sound is still just as smooth as during quieter volumes. Just get an higher end reciever w/ at leat 140 watts and you will be just fine. The Denon avr-5800 is said to sound better than many high end seperates by many known audio reviewers.

Awesome power- great clarity, enough said.
Weaknesses:
Very Important- These speakers draw alot of power due to the 4 ohm load. I had them wired to a very high end Yamaha reciever and at high volume levels the reciever created excessive heat pushing such a heavy ohm load, ultimately shutting off. I highly recommend using an external amp for these speakers. Once I wired my amp to this setup, believe it or not, you can hear much MORE clarity with no stress on my other components.
Review:
These are excellent speakers. Sturdiness and stabilty are of the highest standard. Excellent build and power. The rear mounted amp along with the sub explodes with boom, more than is really nessecary.

These are the most musical speakers that i have ever heard. They have incredible high range clarity and deep rich bass. I have constructed a large dedicated home theater with a complete Polk Speaker system: LSI 25's, PSW 1000 Sub, LSI C and 4 LCI 65i's. This room now is also my main listening room thanks to these terrific sounding speakers!

Close your eyes and its as if there is a band in your family room. You hear every instrument and the imaging is a wall of sound.

Honestly, I can't think of any.
Review:
Without a doubt the most truest sounding speakers I have heard. Once I started to really consider upgrading what I had I just wanted, for the first time, not to compromise. So I just kept on coming back to these and wound up getting the whole works. Lsic, Lsi/fx and the Pro 500 subs. I have begun to become a fan of a good bass line and these just couldn't be better.

Clarity, warmth, understated power.
Weaknesses:
The 4ohm loads require a very powerful amplifier to drive them smoothly. My big Yamaha couldn't do it, nor could the Pioneer Elite. The NAD T775 provides all the power, but cost $3000. It's a consideration . . .
Review:
I have recently been reminded how warm, clear and powerful these speakers are. The NAD T775 I use to drive the LSi15s needed a fan replaced, which required that I substitute a Pioneer Elite VSX-52 so that the TV, blu-ray, etc. could be used. The Pioneer couldn't drive the Polks, so I had to bi-wire it to some old Cyrus bookshelf speakers. Really missed the Polks, which were so clean, clear and warm in sound.

I think the LSi25 are the best deal on the market for the money.
Weaknesses:
I wish the bottom of the grill was optional to expose more of the beautiful piano black finish.
Review:
The LSi25 have the best all around sound that I've heard. The mids and highs are incredibly accurate and the bass is rich beyond all other speakers in its class. Polk has a special way of getting the music to feel live. I can hear the subtle sounds on many CDs that most speakers miss. After listening to many, many competitors, I bought the LSi25s immediately on the first day that I heard them.

I put together a Home Theater system for a house I was having built. Fronts are a pair of these babies, surround are a pair of LS80i ceiling mounted, backs are a pair of LSi9. The center is a LSiC. This is all powered by a B&K 507s2. If you are wondering how it sounds....contact me and I will give you my neighbors phone numbers. I have yet to find a flaw with this system. The installer made the comment that he needed to bring some of his customers over to let them hear what a Home Theater system should sound like.

Although these speakers are a little on the pricy side; those of you who are trying to decide whether they are worth it, well let me tell you that these are arguably the best speakers I've ever heard. I actually compare my system at home now, with the ones in movies theaters. If you love music and want great sound, these can deliver it, granted you have a good reciever. If you want theater live realism, a speaker that can replicate anything, I just have to say this, WOW!

Review:
Let me start off by saying I could not be more pleased with the Sli25. They are the best peace of hi-fi equipment I have purchased towards upgrading my system. I was so impressed when I auditioned them at my local hi-fi store. I was amazed at the sound that was coming out of the Sli25 compared to their ticket price. Detailed and open came to mind, but most of all musical. I bought the Sli25 and got them home and integrated into my system. They sounded even better, I could hardly believe it. With my better amplification and cabling they came alive and opened up even more. I started listing to a verity of music from my collection. I heard such detail and depth that I never heard before on my system and few systems I have auditioned costing three times the price. Thing opened up and the Sli25 reviled so many levels and depth to the music I was astonished. The Sli25 sounded great on every thing from Deaf Leopard’s Vault, Prince’s little red corvette, George Benson’s the best of Benson to Patricia Barber’s classic Cafe Blue. I have been shopping for new speakers for the past three years. I have found a few I really liked but they are all in the $10k range and above. The Sli25 are the first set of speakers that has all the sonic quality’s of the upper market speakers I love but at an affordable price. Still, $2,999.95 is a far amount of change but for what you get sonically, it’s the hi-fi bargain of the century.

I shopped around for a set of speakers for a home theater and music listening room. After listening to the speakers at a showroom, I bought them right away. The sound is great listening to jazz, vocals, pop, and classical music. Nice tight bass, clear midrange and non-shrilling upper range. With my LSi surround system speakers it does a super job with any kind of movie.

Review:
After several years of living with inferior sound systems, I simply could not stand it anymore. On the other hand, I did not want to spend the tens of thousands of dollars that a "true" audiophile system would cost. So my objective was to put together a whole new system for about $6,000 that performs at 90+ percent of the really expensive components. The Polk LSi25 speakers fit the bill very well. I found that other speakers matching their performance cost at least a couple of thousand more. One particular advantage of these speakers is the built-in sub-woofer amplifier with frequency and volume control. This makes it easy to adjust the bass to boom and rumble when watching movies, and to give it more definition and subtlety when listening to classical music.

I do not own these speakers yet, but I was given a demonstration in a high end A/V store in my state. They sounded clear with no static or annoying sounds. The only problem is they are 4 ohm speakers. The only receivers that can run these speakers safely are made by NAD. I would use the NAD T775.

OMG, these speakers are unbelievable. I’ve always considered myself an audiophile. Never really owned any of the real hi-end stuff, but always had good equipment. I always run Denon, but usually run Boston’s. I heard these in the show room. I wasn’t sure about a built in sub, thought it may have resonance problems. Boy was I wrong. These speakers are airy, sound field is excellent, and they can take power. Polk just got a life customer. I will miss Boston’s, I was loyal for so long, but in my opinion, their line is just not as good as Polk’s.

Review:
I purchased a pair of LSi 15 speakers largely on the advice of the sales person in the store. I asked for his opinion as regards the best speakers in the store or the best value for money. Asking for his opinion was a wise thing for when he demonstrated a pair for me I was totally impressed. I went with the 15s thinking that, should I need more bass, I could always augment with a good quality sub wooferlater on. To my surprise and delight, when I raised the volume at home I discovered that I was more than pleased with the bass response. They can handle whatever my amplifier puts out. In my opinion many other speakers that cost much more(including a certain top selling brand)cannot perform as well.

Could have spent some serious cash for a few brands that sounded good, but not as good as these. My neighbors now complain... oh well the don't know what they are missing!

Review:
THe LSI25's perform great for me. I like the quickness the tones move through them. My room is full of great well balanced sounds. I enjoy more music than ever, thanks to these beauties. They have kept up with every piece of hardware I have put behind them. I don't want to go to work anymore.
