Big Value, Big Sound, Stylish Look
The stylish M20 is the perfect value-minded introduction to dynamic full range floorstanding speaker sound. The silk dome tweeter & polymer composite driver components, in a wide-dispersion array, reveal lifelike sound: open, accessible, out-of-the-box sound, where every seat is in the “sweet spot.” A tuned front-firing bass port smooths blending, for serious low end with absolutely no performance-robbing resonances.
M20 Features:
Most other speakers in this price range are made of particle board. It’s flimsy, unstable, and doesn’t reproduce quality sound. R/T/M Series models are all constructed of extensively braced, heavy duty MDF. Quality construction eliminates internal resonances and energy-stealing vibrations, for more efficient operation. The slim tower design conserves floor space, occupying less than one square foot.
Dynamic Balance® is our patented advanced analysis of a speaker’s entire electro-acoustic and mechanical system. It helps us select better materials and more efficient geometry. With deep analysis, we can pinpoint and eliminate things that reduce performance before they become a part of the finished product. The silk and polymer composite driver materials in the speakers of the R/T/M Series are specially tuned to produce a flat, uncolored frequency response. This true transparency reveals a wide dynamic range, with sharp details, and no hint of strain.
Silk dome tweeters deliver clear and detailed highs, without fatigue, even at high volume. Compact, powerful neodymium magnet structures are the same components used in high end loudspeakers.
Durable, efficient, and tuned with our Dynamic Balance process, our polymer composite cone material produces smooth, natural sound.
Acoustically-inert stamped driver baskets are strong and vibration-free. Durable butyl rubber surrounds deliver a lifetime of high performance.
R/T/M Series models all feature professionally designed, speaker-specific bass porting, for highly efficient deep bass response that adds thrilling realism to your sound.
An "open architecture" design, and acoustically inert speaker grille, never gets in the way of your sound.
Speakers in the R/T/M Series speakers are designed to be driven well by even the most modestly-powered amplifer or receiver. So you don’t have to be a techie, a power hog, or an audio pro to achieve great sound that’s spacious and clear, warm and realistic.
The speakers in the R/T/M Series are timbre-matched to other Polk loudspeakers, so you can mix-and-match them to build or add to existing systems, and always experience seamless, realistic blending between speakers.
Metal 5-way professional binding post connectors give you maximum signal transfer and the most secure connections.
All models of the R/T/M Series are engineered to be safe when placed near sensitive AV equipment like monitors or TVs.
Floorstanding R/T/M Series models feature interchangable non-skid leveling feet or carpet spikes, for stability on any type of floor. More stability equals more efficiency, less energy wasted, and better performance.
All Polk products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

bass at 50Hz is tight and not boomy, highs is strong but in a good way, mid is nice and warm. great imaging, sounds very spacious. removing the grills make them look nice next to my silver plasma and silver onkyo702s.
Weaknesses:
weakness is in the grill - very delicate - i've seen this in some stores where also the body easily gets damaged if not taken care of. of course if you own this you'll take care of it right?
Review:
got this at cc yesterday to take advantage of the $40 rebate. i already have the r15 which I almost sold. got myself the new onkyo 702s and some tweaking made the r15's sound very good. I bought these just to try them out and justify if the new purchase would be a wise one. these speakers did not disappoint me. I can sit in front of the left speakers and still hear the right speakers (no sweet spot). High - I don't have to strain my 702's treble setting -0db sometimes sounds very nice already. Bass - my 702 is set all the way up to 10db and crossover set to around 50Hz to take advantage of the right bass. it's not low but at least I don't have to rely on my subwoofer all the time when listening to music in Stereo. Based on personal experience, I highly recommend these units. By the way, thank you CC for having the option to return these if I don't like them before 30 days. I don't think I will. Be careful though - if your recorded material sounds awful in the first place, these speakers will tell you the same thing.

Clear highs from the 3/4" tweeter, fantastic mids and better bass response than I've heard from a 6.5" speaker in a while, due to the front port. Very listenable even without an additional sub.
Weaknesses:
Lowest of the lows. A sub would provide the low fill for movies/techno. The grills are pretty delicate also.
Review:
These speakers blew me away! I got them on a great sale and hurried home to try them out. They're running (very) happily on about 75 Watts from a mini Hi-Fi system, as replacement speakers for a Sony GX450. More power would bring out the bass these speakers are capable of, but paired with a decently powered subwoofer, these deliver an awesome soundstage. With 6.5" bass drivers, obviously the low end is lacking for hip-hop or electronic tracks. Overall, however, these were well worth the money, and surpassed my expectations. I'll be looking into purchasing a set of "entry-level" Polk bookshelf speakers as soon as possible to complete my system.

i rececntley purchased a set o m20s hooked them up to my brand new h/k avr140,sounded great for a short time, left speaker died after a few minutes,i then returned the speakers to the dealer and with my luck they had not another pair in the city, so i settled for a pair of bose 301s,hooked them up, listened and unhooked them and returned them, and told the dealer i will wait as long as i takes to get another set of polks, got em a week later, come to find out it wasnt the speakers that failed, it was my new h/k avr 140, POLK DID NOT DISSAPOINT!! IVE SINCE CHANGED ALL SPEAKERS TO POLK.

very high quality build , sound is AMAZING, I'am currently using a PIONEER VSX 82TXS receiver and I could not find beeter speakers the the M20 for it. the bass is smooth and not boomy
Weaknesses:
I must say the only thing that dissapointed me is that this speaker is only avaiable in black.
Review:
I must say that the sound and build quality are amazing for a very low price. I've been doing research and visiting my local elctronic stores and came to the conclusion that I would not be able to find a better speaker system at the price of the M20

Value, Big Sound without being loud, Build Quality, Floor standing design.
Weaknesses:
For the price there are no weaknesses.
Review:
I have 4 Polk M20's in my home theatre set up; they deliver crisp clear sound throughout their entire frequency range and are perfectly matched for front and rear channels (you will still want use a sub). You can’t beat these speakers for value and I could not be happier with their performance, I went from a micro cube system that cost as much as the Polk's and sounded half as good.

Extremely good performance for the price. Efficient, good imaging, not too colored.
Weaknesses:
Mids have too much presence, mid-bass definition could be improved.
Review:
Got a pair of M20 on Boxing Day sale. For the price I got them, I honestly don't think there's a better deal to be found! I use them on a stereo music-only setup. Highs are nice, altough I wish they had a tad more brillance. Mids are well defined but a tad too present, this is especially noticeable with orchestral music (brass, notably). Mid-bass lacks definition during heavy passages. Bass is generous but not overwhelming, and nicely controlled. Imaging is good, due in part to the well-defined mids. So in conclusion, the M20 might not be the most precise speaker on earth, but as an affordable speaker its price/performance ratio is really hard to beat.

Great for a starter system or a small listening room like mine.
Weaknesses:
I have no complaints, except I should have done it sooner!
Review:
I just bought a pair of these and a PSW10 subwoofer at a Circuit City and I didn't expect them to make such a huge difference over my old speakers! I was so impressed I just ordered a CSi3 center channel speaker off ebay and have been out buying new music all day!

clean crisp sound even at high voloum
Weaknesses:
bass is low but what would you expect from 1 6&1/2"
Review:
I picked these up on Boxing day Great sound clear crisp with a strong sound. If you want mid to deep base you need a woofer (which you should have anyway) Great speaker would highly recomend

Great deal, great sound.
Weaknesses:
not much, except for the color design. Personally I don't like the white face with a black body. If the speaker can come with legs, that would be perfect.
Review:
Also got it on Boxing day 65% off. Connected them with my Yamaha 5930, entry level receivers. At this price , I am pretty satisfy with its sound.

Great sound. Nice size.
Weaknesses:
None yet. They are great speakers, and if you can get them at a goog price I highly recommend them
Review:
Great Speakers. I am using these for front and surround speakers. THey work great with my Yamaha HTR 5940 receiver. Nice clear sound. The bass output is good enough for me, but like any system you need a sub. But the small woofer still hits pretty hard for its size so don't let that throw you off.The face colour isnt white anymore, mine are silver so that is a big plus because they look alot better now. They have small feet, but not spikes, just in case that matters. Great speakers. Get some!!

natural sound, very efficient (89db per 1 watt), inexpensive, durable
Weaknesses:
hardwood boxes would be nice, needs film capacitors in the crossovers ;)
Review:
I bought these a year ago and they sound wonderful. they are efficient and work well with my homemade 10 watts x2 6550 single ended vacuum tube power amp. the bass seems to go way low despite the published specs and i find that a subwoofer is not needed. they work well and play nice with really high or low powered amps

Very good quality with respect to both bass and treble. Very loud and very appealing to the eye.
Weaknesses:
None really... Only have had them for a day so far so we'll see.
Review:
Very nice speakers!!! Very good bass in my opinion, comparing them to my JVC FS-V30 micro system. When turned up to half volume on a 100W/channel amp, as loud as I'm ever going to need them, virtually no distortion can be heard.

Price, design, easy to hung on the wall
Weaknesses:
Not deep bass frequencies, but that's not a big problem since you should think to use a subwoofer for a complete solution. Bass frequencies is also a bit "fat" and not dry as a wood-made box. The only thing I am not much satisfied of are the high frequencies which are a bit poor in power and highness.
Review:
Nice design, very good price, usefull to repleace your home theater front speaker, together with the subwoofer, as I did. In that way I can use it to listen to the music, too. Powerful, clear, entry level satisfactory solution
