Strengths:

strentghts is that they can move you rear view mirror all the way down

Weaknesses:

if you put too much power to them the stop working and the voice coil fries. Dont put any more than 500 wtts to these i had 650.

These subs sound very sharp and clear. And boy do they pound

i've got a question about the voice coil frying...what would happen if this does happen? does the sub just stop working? i think mine might have done this but i am not sure...and is this fixable? other than that it is an A++ sub!!

Awesome sub!!! I've got three of them in the back of my '99 S-10 Blazer, and they thump like you wouldn't believe. The rear view mirror rattles so much that I can barely see what's behind me.

I just bought two of the MM104's and have the C500s model polk amp is this going to be enough power for two of these subs? will it be under powered? can you do harm to the sub if its under powered? Sorry im just learning. cant wait to try them

Strengths:

Attractive, clean looks. Smooth, tight bass. Very musical sound. Excellent binding posts! Aluminum basket saves on weight without sacrificing rigidity. Digs deep down to 20 Hz.

Weaknesses:

The matching grille intereferes with performance. Power handling is a llittle on the low side, especially since it isn't all that sensitive.

Review:

Great sub! I have a single sub in a sealed enclosure that previously housed an older db104. This sub has 300 watts RMS and 600 peak running to it. After the break-in period was over, I was quite surprised at the volume levels this achieved in the trunk of the Taurus it is installed in. It's a strong performer and is very accurate in the .65 cu. in. enclosure. I had the Polk/MOMO grille on this sub but it contacted the grille. A package slid into that grille and broke it. I replaced it with a Kicker grille and it hit that grille too. So I put a half inch spacer between the grille and the mounting baffle and it doesn't hit the grille anymore. Overall though, I am very pleased at how well this sub performs for the power level it is at. It defintly likes power and the more the better. I can compare it to the db104 that was in that enclosure and it matches the performance of the db104 but requires twice the power of the db104 to do it. Overall, it is a good performer. At $270, you can find other competitors that will play louder but I have yet to see one that is more accurate at this price.

I bought these subs off polk audio online from ebay. and from what i read on the reviews it thought i would give it a try. i am running 2 of these, 2 db 8004 dvc,mb quarts all around and being powered by the kicker 700.5 I had the shaker 1000 in the car. i used all the factory enclosures. and these will hit hard along with everything else. very please so far. but only had them in for a week now and should almost be though the break in period.
