MM1040DVC Features:
New polymer woofer cones and butyl rubber surrounds will not break down over time and will survive the rigors of harsh automotive environments.
High temperature copper voice coil (51mm) and polyamide former withstands the most rigorous use while maintaining extremely low distortion for bass punch and output.
Heavy duty input terminals accommodate speaker wire up to 8 AWG or twisted pairs of 12 AWG.
Advanced carbon composite basket based on the spokes of a wheel is lightweight, will not flex during peaks and looks great! Don’t be afraid to show off the back of your woofer.
Klippel optimized components using a state-of-the-art Klippel distortion analyzer, Polk engineers were able to optimize the woofer’s motor structure, voice coil alignment and suspension for the best possible performance, even at extreme listening levels.

The sound quality of this sub in this price range is a incredible value. Very good looking sub. Shallow depth will fit in any application.
Weaknesses:
You will be hard pressed to find a weekness in these subs.
Review:
The mobile monitor subs sound excellent. Very deep clear bass. My hat goes off to polk for being able to make a shallow sub that actually sounds good and looks good at the same time. At 4 5/8 inches of mounting depth you will look hard to find a sub that has the linear xmax of these subs. All I can say is excellent work.

Got 2 of these professionally installed in my 03 F150 Supercrew. Since their shallow mounts they fit up under my back seat perfectly with the right box. Hooked up to a 600Watt mono-block Soundstream amp. WOW. They hit just as hard as my friends 15L7. Hit the mids and go really low for being a 10" and a shallow mount. No capacitors or upgraded alternators needed. Loudness and sound has nothing to do with mass watts, its just matching them up right.
