With a heart pounding 425 Watts continuous/800 Watts peak power handling capacity, the MM1240DVC subwoofer not only plays loud but sounds great. As a result of 3 years of Polk research and development, the new MM systems have been designed to offer unparalleled sound quality with exceptional fit to meet virtually any application. Borrowing technology from our flagship SR Series, the MM Series delivers a lot of subwoofer for the money. Through the use of high-tech carbon composite baskets, oversized voice coils, and state-of-the-art composite cones, we offer high-end audio performance normally found only in the most expensive loudspeaker systems.
MM1240DVC Features:
New polymer woofer cones and butyl rubber surrounds will not break down over time and will survive the rigors of harsh automotive environments.
High temperature copper voice coil (51mm) and polyamide former withstands the most rigorous use while maintaining extremely low distortion for bass punch and output.
Nickel plated heavy duty input terminals accommodate speaker wire up to 8 AWG or twisted pairs of 12 AWG.
Carbon composite basket based on the spokes of a wheel is lightweight, will not flex during peaks and looks great! Don’t be afraid to show off the back of your woofer.
Klippel optimized components using a state-of-the-art Klippel distortion analyzer, Polk engineers were able to optimize the woofer’s motor structure, voice coil alignment and suspension for the best possible performance, even at extreme listening levels.

These subs are pretty damn awesome. They sound great! I never heard of Polk Audio until my friend got two 10's in his Ford Ranger. I thought they sounded great so i decided to buy two 12's for my Silverado 1500 ext cab. They hit real hard. Make sure you have a good amp and some good boxes and you'll be good.

Occasionally I will find a song that has a very high frequency bass section, in which the speakers sound a little off, but I can prevent this with adjustment of my amp easily.

These speakers are the best I've had. Everyone loves getting in my 1500 silverado to hear them. I replaced my MTX thunder 12's with these and was blown away. What's even more amazing is that I am running them off of a small 250w monoblock which is way too little power, but they still out hit all of my friends 12's which are recieving much more power. I can't wait to install my new PA 1200.1 amp and really unleash these monsters!

2 words; IN SANE.. Seriously, I always use JL subs in my vehicles. This time I had a depth issue causing me to either cut and weld many things in my back seat or gamble on a new brand that was able to free up an inch or 2 without going to the TW5. I wasn't in the mood to cut and weld anything this time, so the look was on. Polk's mids and highs have always been part of my systems, so why not the subs.... Holy cow, if I knew they sounded that good I would have purchased their subs a long time ago (and saved a couple bucks). What else have I been missing out on??? I wish I would have tried the SR's now!!
