The power to supply these doesnt have to be high to make them hit hard.

The only weakness this sub has is givng you a headache from listening to long. i suggest excedrin!!!

Review:

Very musical and accurate. Doesn't overdrive the rest of the system.
Weaknesses:
Can bring out the flaws in your system easily, and needs some good clean power... I guess it's not really a weakness, but eh ;)
Review:
A GREAT sub, no doubt. Hits hard while still being very musical. Can do a great job from rap to techno to acid jazz. I've used the GNX line and a Boston Pro Series sub and this one beats them in pure musical quality. The Boston was louder, and the GNX could handle higher frequencies, but that's not always a good thing ;)

No weaknesses thus far.

Good looks
Weaknesses:
Not loud Not hard hitting bass Lots of distortion at high volumes
Review:
I only listened to these subs at circuit city...they didnt hit hard at all and there was alot of distortion. The only thing that is good with these subs it that they look cool...other than that get some infinitys or mtxs.

EVERYTHING ABOUT IT AND THE COIL YOU CAN SMELL BURNING AFTER 9 MIN.
Review:
I THINK THIS PRODUCT WAS WEAK AND MOMO WAS JUST A SELLING NAME TO THROW ON THE SUB. JL AUDIO BY FAR KILLS THIS SUB AND THIS POLK/MOMO PRODUCT IS MISSLEADING. GOING TO GO TRY TO GET MY MONEY BACK

Sound clarity & super deep bass
Weaknesses:
the 1st time i heard these subs at circuit city this kid said that polk sucks he turned it on it did,but at nebraska furniture mart it was absolutely tremendous bass if you buy these subs put them in the right box size or have professionals do it like at Nebraska. NOTHING sounds or hits with clarity better when installed correctly than POLK/MOMO
Review:
I was at Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City. The car audio section had a mini cooper with all polk/momo gear in it.That is the best sounding system i have ever heard.4 polk 12" MM124 subs, carbon amps,MM6 components.NO distortion whatsoever.Sound quality was better than JL,Diamond,Focal, and even Image horns. I certainly am planning on getting the MM6's.I already have MTX thunder amps & Image IDQ subs. That is the ONLY reason my explorer is not full of polk/momo gear.My next vehicle GOD willing is going 2 have polk/momo Peace and Love

They were loud for the time they worked, and were good at hitting the EXTREAM lows
Weaknesses:
They take more time then normal subs to break in, so go on a long road trip, it took me about 7-8 hours of music before good quality was heard. The voice Coil smells after being ran hard, it smells really bad. Like i tell coustmers and all my friends told me, polk subs blow very easy, i mean i'm not pumping the momo amp into it which is only 616 watts at 4ohmsso like 300 each max and one blew. Then i got the infinty 1500 watt amp and pumped like i believe it was 450 rms and 700 max and the other one blew. Cuz yes i know you can also hurt a sub by pumping too little of watts too. But anyone thats looking to buy sub, unless you like poor coustmer service and the product braking, go else where
Review:
When i first bought these subs i also bought them along with the d-block momo amp. At first they sounded good really good, then one blew. So i sent it out and got it back like 3 WEEKS LATER. Then all was good untill the other one blew...And of course this was right before 4th july weekend so it kinda sucked. The only thing i was mad about was the coustmer serivice i got, a big run around. Now i work at Circuit City and i sell polk momo, why? I don't know. Lets just say that i am only showing Alpine and Infinity speakers and amps. I was less then pleased with the preformance and coustomer serivice i got from polk audio. My review would to go to a different brand like alpine R type or Infinity kappa seriers subs for good quality.

the look suck me in.
Weaknesses:
weak ass voice coil. flutters on high lows. takes way to long to break in. and has a messed up air space spec .88cu ft? come on!!!
Review:
I payed $300 for this piece of SH*T thinking it would be clear, strong, and put out some clear lows *WRONG* What I get is a sub that has blow'n 3 times. If I would of known it takes 40hrs to break in this sub I would have never got it, Who has that much time to F*ck with a sub? when I first got it I thought it was on fire, but it was just the voice coil smoking. -Don't waist your money, buy the new momo subs, they're a lot better.

Hard hitting for a single voice coil sub at 2 ohms.
Weaknesses:
Can fart out on the lower frequencies around 50 - 80 Hz.
Review:
You know, I see all these people on here complaining about how long it takes to break in a sub. GET OVER IT. If you wanna have a good quality system be willing to research on it and put in the time and work to have it. Also, for people that are having problems with blowing speakers, you have installed it wrong. I have been installing since before I graduated high school and I have been regularly doing custom work for years. Polk makes some of the best in the market. Anyone who says otherwise has no idea.

good strong bass,to spec enclosure, good solid build, good stiff cone, good looking total package.
Weaknesses:
at very low volumes bass flutters just a little, other than that not bad at all.
Review:
basically for what the product is it hits pretty good. you have it on your amp at lowpass and you get what you paid for. you break it in just as suggested for the proper amnt of time. unlike some of these crappy reviews above,i have had no problems with this woofer. i have smeeled no odd voice coil smells, i have had no blown woofer, good sound. for being single voice coil, its not bad.

Powerful, clean and reliable bass period

I know there are more powerfull subs at the cost of higher prices, but I got everything I expected from the price.
Review:
I personally have not had a problem with these subs. I was a little bummed about the 30 hour break in but it just gave me more respect for them. I am no pro installer, hardly amateur and I installed it myself. I just made sure I got 2 matching amps that run at 4 ohms 1x500 rms each to go with both of the Polk made enclosed subs. I set a good frequency range and thats all. These subs are just awesome. I own an old 76 chevy blazer and that thing is like a steel can it holds in sound very well. I recently had a MA audio D16 15" 400 rms sub in it and you really couldn't feel the bass outside of that tank but when you're inside you could feel your hairs tingle. Now with these mm12's the bass hurts ur ears when ur inside and people on the outside have been asking me all the time "WTF DO YOU HAVE IN THAT THING?". I am HAPPY. I got both of them for 170 each on cardomain/sounddomain. I also have a set of the Polk db series 6 1/2 components and then a set of db series 6x9's which run very clean, crisp and loud. And knowing how those mids run when I saw the special on cardomain I felt really lucky. My head unit is the only thing holding me back at the moment. Which with a greatly improved head unit i can only imagine how awesome this stuff will sound like. I am currently most interested in Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP. The head unit i have now only has 2 preouts at 2volts lol. When I found out how old and weak my clarion was I was surprised that I get the sound quality that I have now. But I just thank Polk for that one.

I like the loaded enclosure looks, one thing though, remove that grill off of the front, the woofer really does hit it. The looks are great, the sound is ideal, and anyone who dislikes this woofer needs to have their head examined.(also coming from someone who can get Kappa Perfects for next to nothing)
Weaknesses:
NONE to speak of.
Review:
Before I start my review, ignoring a variable factor such as I am an employee of Circuit City, I have listened to an astounding amount of speakers in general. I am not one to only listen to one genre of music and as a former music major that would be assinine. I have owned Boston Acoustic Proseries before, along with Alpine Type R, some Infinity stuff, blah blah.. My favorite woofer is the Polk MOMO MM124 (Keep in mind I had the MM12, one with loaded enclosure). I'm sure everyone is thinking, why that driver of all the drivers available out there? It's pretty simple really, it's musically accurate. Alpine Type R, while being an exceptional SPL sub lacks accuracy--namely articulation in fast bass beats. Nothing compares to the MM124 driver at speed. Boston Proseries, well it's a fairly musical sub if you don't mind the fact it's kinda farty sounding at low bass. The MOMO was more efficient and sounded better. Everyone on this forum complained about the problems of high bass, well I have some old Polk EX365's 6.5 coaxials that seem to be able to hit those notes just fine, no 12" driver will ever be able to hit high bass notes accurately. Then there will be the JL enthusiasts who are "JL is god",--in the real world you will find that JL is not a company that makes any HIGH END HOME AUDIO products. Why does that matter? Well in theory, when you buy new speakers, you are trying to get more musical accuracy out of your car right? Well a high end car setup is trying to mimmick the sounds of the higher end home audio electronics. JL is basing their sound off of something they have little understanding of where as Polk has been making exceptional speakers for a long time. Another thing, a driver than can make more sound with a smaller amplifier is a strength not a weakness. One thing that makes this sub superior to everything else was it's extreme linearity, the sub sounds better as it gets louder.-->the voice coil is perfectly aligned-->more accurate bass without breaking up. I broke my sub in with only 200watts of power (for a long time) before feeding it my MTX amplifier.(I'm hoping to have a C300.2 Amplifier or two soon). I want the point also made that single voice coil is not a weakness-->hello, you can use monoblock amps and two channel bridgeable. Besides I have NEVER heard a dual voice coil sub as accurate as the single voice coil with the same power next to it. Dual 4 ohm voice coils don't thrill me for dual sub setups, that means that you have 1 ohm, 4 ohm, or 16 ohm setups. I have never heard one ohm sound good, 16 ohm is improbable, and well 4 ohm,-->get a new amp. There's my two cents;).

Appealing and aggressive looking style! Priced for competition.
Weaknesses:
Too long to break in & once you do accomplish this feat they don't hold up to 300 watts rms.
Review:
I bought the whole set up (4 MM124's,2 MM6's,& 2 MM690's)and have only one regret..........................buying these subs! They are only great to add style to your ride and not the sound which you need to match. I'd never waste any more money on this brand again because of my extreme dissapointment for these wrongly advertised competition subs. I got lured into the MOMO name like many others and ended up doing my whole car in MOMO products. Stay away from these subs and spend a tad more on 12W6v2's instead. No dissapointments there.

Looks AWESOME. Hits hard.
Weaknesses:
20-30hour break in period, I still haven't even finished it yet.
Review:
I just finished installing one of these subs into the trunk of my Grand Am and it really kicks. This is the second subwoofer I have ever had my my car, but it kicks harder then the two 10"s MTX I had in it before. I'm using an Infinity amp(bridged) to power the sub.
