Championship Performance
"It's like VIAGRA for your subwoofer!"
Polk/MOMO Subwoofers are like compact thunder machines. They have an ultra-stiff Dynamic Balance Cone. The "Dish Cone" design is mechanically supported by a unique Vented Cone Coupler. This Coupler looks like the outspread fingers of a hand holding up a basketball.
This incredible Vented Cone Coupler is constructed of rigid injection-molded ABS. Its support increases the sub's axial rigidity, literally propping up the dish cone, distributing the motive force of the Voice Coil over a larger surface area of the cone. It's the same principle as if the Voice Coil were wearing snowshoes and the bottom of the cone was tundra. It's the same principle as if the dish cone was gobbling handfuls of Viagra just minutes before a hot date.
The result of all this propping and rigidity and tundra is a vast reduction in distortion-producing cone break-up and resonance, for quick, clean, deep bass; Polk/MOMO-style bass!
Polk/MOMO Championship Performance car audio speakers are engineered by Polk Audio with ultra high-tech materials for competition-level performance and durability. They're styled exclusively by MOMO, the world's preeminent designer of racing accessories, to look as good as they sound. And for motor sports enthusiasts the world over, a MOMO product is a charismatic symbol of the finest quality.
When you consider your car an extension of your personality, Polk Audio/MOMO High Performance Car Audio is the perfect synthesis of technology and design.
MM2124 Technologies and Features:
- Marine Certified Polk/MOMO speakers are built tough to withstand the toughest environments so they are perfect for use in boats of all types. That's why Correct Craft offers Polk/MOMO speakers in their award-winning Nautiques ski and wakeboarding boats. Professional wakeboarder Brian Francis choose Polk/MOMO speakers woofers and amps for his MasterCraft boat and Chevy Avalanche truck for maximum entertainment and excitement on the road and wave.
- Ultra-stiff Metalized Polypropylene Dynamic Balance Cone for massive bass.
- Dish Cone design is supported by a Vented Cone Coupler, increasing axial rigidity "like Viagra for your subwoofer!"
- State-of-the-art laser-based Klippel measurement technology perfectly centers the subwoofer's voice coil in the magnetic field, improving X-max and BL linearity, and the sub's micro and macro dynamics, for deep, precise, stomach-shaking and spine-wrenching bass.
- Optimized for high performance in small sealed enclosures but versatile enough to pound hard even in bandpass and vented enclosures¾ Flat, deep bass with great extension as only Polk/MOMO can do it.
- Built tough and backed by one of the best warranty in the car audio world: Three years parts and labor.
- Triple vented for maximum airflow, high dissipation and high power handling: Vented Coil/Cone Coupler, Vented Spider Platform and Vented Pole Piece all allow cooling air to freely flow over the heat-generating components and better harness all the watts your amp can dish out.
- Durable, airtight Rubber Surround for a long life of extended linear motion, optimized to achieve the longest throw possible for the cone: "Big cone, big throw!"
- Huge, fire-retardant flat NOMEX Spider allows extended linear motion while providing highly reliable mechanical and thermal stability.
- Acoustically inert Stamped Steel Basket with massive, rock-solid non-flexing magnet and motor assembly with removable Rubber Magnet Boot for more damping and deeper install flexibility (reduces product depth by 1/4-inch).
- Anti-Resonance Trim Gasket for tight fit with G Series Grilles, removable for over 1/4² of installation flexibility.
- Heat shrink rubber coated tinsel leads with strain relief terminal connections to take the punishment of long excursion bass.
- Professional Grade Nickel Plated Locking Push Terminals for secure connections; big holes accept nice fat wire, big as 12 gauge!
- Optional MOMO Design "Quasar II" rim-style Grille available separately at your authorized Polk Audio AutoSound dealer, or at shop.polkaudio.com.

sub performs well..
Weaknesses:
But if you are amateur to built your own enclosure you will surely be disappointed with the help provided you get crippled
Review:
from first i bought this sub i had great impression that it outperforms others but one must have a good enclosure unfortunately the customer care person doesn't even respond technically if at all he responds, and there is more information to know about T/S parameters like is it done with coils in series or parallel etc.

Had one of these in the back of my explorer for about 3 years. Better than the old JL's I had in there. And I'm sure not many better subs out there. Thoroughly satisfied. I got mine with Polk's custom sealed enclosure from Circuit City. Nice deal.

I just recently purchased my first Polk audio products. I bought 2 Polk MOMO 12's mm2124. I hooked both 12's in a custom box in my 1989 Camaro RS running to a 1000 watt amp. All i can say is that they SLAM!!! They hit much harder than my previous mtx 6000s & my kenwood tornadoes

Hit hard, and handles lots of power.
Weaknesses:
On higher levels dont hit as low any more because of the max power handling, but does not distort.
Review:
Polk MOMO's are great they hit hard, low and give off a deep growl in small enclosures. The more power you run to them the better, im running a Kenwood 1000 watt class D and it works wonderful on these subs. Make sure to torque them down tight because they will un-seal there selfs.

Review:
These subs are sweet. I got two of the 12's in my explorer sport. I wired them in paralell to achieve a 2-ohm load on my amp. Thses subs are made out of quality materials and the research done to produce polk products is what makes them sound so good. I would describe them as a clean bump. I have them hooked up to a MTX 15001D amplifier (1500 watts!). This amp is 1100 watts RMS and the polks handle the extra power nicely. I also have 2 capacitors. A 1-farad, and a .5 farad. I alos love the way these subs look. I highly recommed the grills.

Work great with small airspaces. Looks and a really rigid cone.
Weaknesses:

Review:
Exceptional, I have tried JL audio, MTX, Audiobahn and even MB Quart and these by far are the best. They are so clean and hit really low. I'm only pushing 150watts RMS to each of them. I have ordered a new amp to put 400 RMS to each and i'm willing to bet that I will be turning down the gain alot. They fill up my grand cherokee perfectly and look great too.

Wow, I have two 12inch polk MM2124's hooked up with an 800watt kenwood amp, and there is no distortion what-so-ever. These are one of a kind sub's, the sound is crisp and you can feel the sound in your chest when it hits. If your looking for sub's that are low-priced and very easy to hook-up then I sugest going with these subs. I have had numorus amount of complaments and satisfied friends that have heard my ploks, its a great buy!! 10/10!!

Overall this sub is very versitile I play all types of music and the sub is very balanced. It doesn't overpower my MB Quarts they blend perfect. I'm using a MTX 502 amp briged to provide 500W to the sub and it sounds awesome.

Extremely accurate "tight", with any type of music. Awesome power handling. 451 RMS, full gain, absolutely no distorstion.
Weaknesses:
Are you kidding me?
Review:
Wow...this is honestly the tightest and best sounding sub, Ive heard in a long time. I have been building car audio systems since I was 16 (now 24) and the addition of one sub off of my Fosgate Power 451s bridged is more than enough bass than I need. Absolutely no distortion and the accuracy of this sub is beyond compare. I guess the best word for it would be extremely "tight" bass with optimal output. Do these subs really have a power limit??? I was more than impressed with the accuracy of the mono system/ although I am still considering another (same) amp, and sub to complete a perfect stereo system, but I honestly dont know how much better it can get. Good job POLK. P.S. about the "fart comment" you should probably learn how to wire a sub and amp before you begin to install. + and -

Review:
I just bought 2 of these about 2 weeks ago. I have them running off of the new Alpine 9827 head unit and off a soundstorm amplifier. The sound quality is just excellent, hits very hard and precise. The only thing I wish I did was bought a more powerful amp. The amp I have only pushes 150 watts RMS by 2 at 4ohms. These subs are in a small enclosure so it still gives me plenty of space in my trunk to work with. This is the first pair of subs that I own and they can beat my friends jlaudio w3's no question. These aren't even broken in yet and they are still this good. Anyone who lives near a Circuit City should buy these there since they are giving them away dirt cheap. Get this sub, you will not regret it!

Review:
I happen to have put 4 12" in my extended cab with 400w (RMS) to each with a custom box. wow. i have never had to turn down the bass before. ive won a local bass tournament and came in a close 3rd at a very large one. These are great subs for a daily driver or anyone that wants some bass to their music but also someone that wants to get the neighborhood rattling. I suggest buying them now.

Plays loud and deep, hits hard, sounds great, looks great, uses a small enclosure(doesn't take up much trunk space in my car), low price for such a great sub.
Weaknesses:
The break-in period, I'm impatient and I want to turn it up right after I hook it up. Other then that, NONE, this is an amazing subwoofer, easily the best in it's class, and maybe even the best on the market.
Review:
I have one of these subs in a small sealed enclosure in my trunk, powered by a MTX amplifier pushing between 400 to 500 watts. It sounds absolutely great and can be turned up to unbearably loud volume levels. It can hold the deep, resonating bass note from a bass guitar or quickly punch out the rapid bass notes from a bass kick drum. Sounds great at low and high sound pressure levels. If you want quaility or volume or both then get this subwoofer, it is easily worth the $140. Compared to cheaper subs, there is no comparision, Polk wins, and when compared to more expensive subs, Polk still wins. I've heard them compared to Alpine Type R, MTX Thunder 8000, Rockford Fosagate, Kenwood Tornadoes, Pioneer, Sony Xplods, even JL W0, W3, & W6 and this sub is just better. Plus, with the price difference you could buy a couple of Polks for the cost of just one of the others. Bottom line, if you want a great sub at a great price then this is the sub for you.

Review:
great subs, nice looking. had 1 in ported box in my truck and had got plenty of rumble. 2 months in and without any real abuse (did turn it up a few times) it lost substantial SPL and got that funny smell. tempted to buy another but Polk's warranty is crap.
Polk Response:
Not sure what you mean about the warranty remark. What you describe should be covered by the warranty. If you haven't already done so, contact Polk customer service department in Baltimore: (800) 377-7655 or email polkcs@polkaudio.com.

I had some older polks that got jacked...Luckily, I had comprehensive insurance, and when I told the insurance company I had "two polk 12s" they sent me two of these. I just want to say thank you to whoever jacked my subs, because these momos beat the hell out of my old polks. I have a hatchback, and they rattled the threads off of the bolts in the hatch. Whoever is giving these subs a bad review probably didn't hook them up properly or put them in a lousy box, because pound for pound they are some of the loudest subs you can buy.

Review:
I have always been an avid follower of Polk home theatre speakers, which led me to purchase these for my car. I could not have made a better decision. These are the cleanest sounding subs that i have ever heard in any car, in any configuration. And for the price that i got them for, it was a steal for what i have gotten out of them so far. I've had them now for about a year and to this day it still amazes me how well these subs perform. I have them powered by a 1700 watt kenwood amp and it doesnt phase them in the least bit. Definately recommend these to anyone looking to pure clean sounding base into their ride.

I have 4 12" momo's in a blazer and they make the hair on your neck stand up and your vision blury. They hit so hard it blew out my window lock.

This thing can pound like no other. Only my first sub but they are louder than most of my friends and they cost less. Look really clean too.
Weaknesses:
Some distortion as you push more power. This is easily solved by getting a more airtight enclosure.
Review:
Got these bad boys hooked up to a Diesel 1200 watt amp. So loud the neighbors are on a witch hunt after my TL. Agreed that these subs are the best bang for the buck. Straight poundage.

I bought 2 of these subs a few weeks ago. First I only had one hooked up to the polk c500.1 and threw them in a custom built box. It sounded amazing. I hooked up the 2nd sub in another box to lower the ohm load as I don't usually turn up the bass too much. I'm very pleased with the way these subs sound. When I turn it up, however, one of them distorts a tiny bit, but thats only because my box isn't as air-tight as it should be. But thats my fault, I put it together quickly. I'll fix it soon. In conclusion: these subs kick a**. buy it, buy it now!

Just purchased a used 12 in momo in an enclosed box !! This is the first sub i have had since my younger days when i had two 12 in subs in a mini truck, and i will have to say, this 1 12 in Polk outperforms the two i had in the truck and this is in a jeep! (not the best stereo vehicle)
