Excellent crispness and very nice high detail.
Weaknesses:
Very slight distortion at very high volume levels, but you get that with any speaker.

These were wonderful speakers. If I would have known that they would have made that much of a difference to my system I would have gotten them a long time ago.

Sorry to hear about your problem with the MM400 tweeters. These tweeters have a 3 year warranty. Return the tweeters to our sevice department for exchange. The address is : Polk Audio 2550 Britannia Boulevard Suite D San Diego, CA. 92154. Include a short note with your name, address, daytime telephone number, desription of the problem, along with a copy of your receipt. We recommend shipping them using UPS or FedEx. Once you have received the replacement tweeters give us a call at 800-377-7655 between the hours of 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern time Monday through Friday and we will be glad to assist you in the configuration of the system and make some recommendations. These are truly top-of-the line tweets. You will not find better sound from similarly constructed speakers. Only inverted dome types are superior, due to their higher power handling, and those are always made from a metal of some sort which can be very harsh if close attention is not paid to the db settings. These Polks, on the other hand ,are made of silk which offers the listener extremely smooth, highly detailed and precise accuracy in reproducing high frequency music. Coupled with a powerfull and clean amplifier, I say 75 watts and crossed-over at around 5000 Hz, they will give you decades of awe-inspiring performance. This reviewer highly recommends and would buy them again in a heartbeat.
