King of the Deep
The PSW125 is the King of the PSW Series. The end-all, with a powerful 12-inch composite woofer driven by a high-power intelligent amplifier (150W continuous/300W peak!). The best subwoofer for big rooms and big systems, the PSW125 delivers smooth, musical bass at lifelike volumes; it’s truly groundbreaking.
PSW125 Features:
Heavy-duty MDF construction is designed and engineered for perfect volume, minutely tuned for distortion-free low frequencies, and internally braced and damped to eliminate internal standing waves and other performance-robbing resonances.
This unique configuration uses a specially tuned and directed port to produce maximum bass impact, using your floor as more than just something to stand upon. Downward-firing ports also keep the cabinet’s front profile as sleek as possible.
Unique driver materials, speaker geometry and enclosure construction techniques that actually produce cleaner, clearer sound is at the heart of our patented Dynamic Balance® process. This process helps the PSW125 perform effortlessly in high stress, big bass situations when you need them most.
PSW Series subwoofers outperform the competition with durable, resonance-free Dynamic Balance driver materials that stay stiff and move fast. so you experience deep, musical low frequencies and thrilling effects with superior system blending.
Our state-of-the-art Klippel distortion analyzer optimizes the woofer’s motor structure, voice coil alignment and suspension for smooth, unimpeded movement over a broad spectrum of the lower frequencies to ensure the best, most efficient performance even at extreme listening levels.
Easily accessible, professional-grade (unfiltered) LFE, line- and speaker-level inputs, and speaker level outputs, allow easy connection to any system.
Smart sensing circuitry knows when to turn itself on and off. Superior compression circuitry limits distortion at extreme volume levels. Intelligent amplifier also features adjustable low-pass crossover, phase switch & subwoofer volume controls to professionally control your bass output and the sub’s blending characteristics with your front stage speakers.
PSW Series Subwoofers blend perfectly with systems composed of other Polk loudspeakers, especially TSi, RM and R/T/M Series speakers.
Unique design keeps your subwoofer stable and steady even at radical volume levels, for more efficient use of power. No more “escaped washing machine” syndrome.
All Polk products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

This subwoofer is great for movies, the thump and booms are incredible. It has to be turned way down for 2 channel music use.

Review:
I had this subwoofer, I am a great lover of subwoofers for film and music, but this model in particular I was quite disappointed, the sound is very booming. I am one of many fans numbers 1 Polk, and I would say that my taste I stay with the previous models, the Psw303 Psw404 Psw505 Psw10 Psw12, the sound of these is deeper and more enveloping, I prefer to sound with a subwoofer surround a deep and booming, so I prefer a booming speakers for computer type Logitech Z-5500. I have understood that dependent on a topic that has changed the place of manufacture, if that could not be influenced.

Very well built and very powerful for the price range.
Weaknesses:
A little big but I was able to hide it.
Review:
This is my first home sub, and could be my last. Have owned it for one day now and it has changed our movie and tv experience in so many ways, old movies are like watching for the first time, and tv shows have much more depth. Placed it in a corner in my basement and moves the floor upstairs, had to turn it down a bit.

For the price and performance this subwoofer gets 5 stars. I listened some martin logan dynamo series and other polk subwoofers. I felt this is the best subwoofer. If you are looking for a boom boom this is not your sub. If you want the litesn to bass notes accurately this is your sub.

Precise bass. Able to go low (and I mean low).
Weaknesses:
None, yet.
Review:
Exceptional precision. OK, maybe the Velodyne did sound somewhat (and that is somewhat) better in the shop, but 3 times the price! Way, way better than either of my 2 previous subs...

sound quality, not a great value for the money, muddy, and boomy.
Review:
I am a big fan of Polk Audio and i am very much into my music and movies, i just feel this subwoofer cannot keep up with either. It is big, but the sound is muddy and boomy. For the price i do believe you can purchase a better subwoofer.

Deeeeeep bass, good value on sale.
Weaknesses:
Not quite as clear as my 505 but cost a less as well, what else would you expect.
Review:
I dont know why anyone would say they have to crank it full to hear it. I suspect it is a reciever issue. I have mine set about half way and it does pound when you watch movies and supper deep with the music. Definately a good buy if you get on sale. Almost as good as my psw505.

price, build quality, power, sound, forgiving when placed somewhat imperfectly. in spite of cautionary measures to place 18 inches away from my tv, no issues with interference.
Weaknesses:
none for me.
Review:
i gave it a 4 out of 5 only because there are obviously better subs available but could have given it a 5 at the price point i paid for it which was incredible! it's interesting to note the "store from beyond in canada" sold it on sale for 1/2 of what the "store that sees things" did on their sale. at the cheaper price, i believe it is the best sub available. at the price of the other store, i would have about 5 on the list to refer to. it's bit, but fits nice even in my small basement room where i have my home theater setup. i don't like a sub or any other speaker that "sticks out". if i could put all my components except my tv behind a wall, i would! i love this sub

Clean, tight, and low. This Sub can bring it.
Weaknesses:
Push spring instead binding posts as the alternative connection. I am using Monster THX Sub wire with LFE, so no need for alternative connections.
Review:
Pleasantly surprised by the punch this sub packs. Powered along side B&W 603s and B&W LCR 600s this sub brings it. Tested out of the box with the Pod race in Episode I and Moria in Fellowship of the Ring and the smile on my face was from ear to ear. Very clean, tight and no need to set the sub volume above 40%. Way to go Polk!

Review:
THUMP THUMP BOOM! Perfect for our room (24x12'), this little pushes enough air to deliver all the thuds, crashes and rumbles that you need to complete your home theater experience. I'd rate this at 4 stars because for a 10" sub the box is a bit on the big size. My wife calls it the mini fridge! :( However it gets an extra star because the price was without a doubt the deal of the year!

So far I have only used this sub for music... The home theater isn't done yet. This sub is great! Clear and precise bass that'll get you moving. I can't wait to hear it down in the basement with 7.1 surround through my Denon AVR-888. Great sub for a great price, highly recommended.

It will rattle nearby furniture if you want it to. Makes a nice small table or you can sit on it. It's pretty big.
Weaknesses:
I wish the setup instructions were better. I had to go online to get some guidance to make it come to life. I personally don't like the silver grill outline. I'd rather it were black. I have the black model btw

system: pioneer vsx33, tsi500s, tsi 300s, cs20 center, psw125, 12 ga. wire w/bananas, mediabridge sub cable. Well, it took me a few months to finally figure out my receiver enough to get some really great sound out of my system. Or maybe it was speaker break-in....Now I can hear the sub perfectly. It enhances everything from music to tv to movies. Pandora sounds absolutely awesome.

Decent purchase for the money if found on sale.
Weaknesses:
Needs a bigger amp... OR I need a different/bigger sub... which I have a few of. :)
Review:
It is what is it. It's a decent purchase . No one should expect high levels of ground shaking bass from this... of course for that you have to move up. For a small room, secondary system, it's acceptable. I found the optimal spot for it in my room and I still had to turn the volume up to max to get an acceptable level from it. Below the max volume setting there's very little output from it. It's kind of all or nothing. In my situation if I crank my receiver up the satellites start to drown out, overpower, the sub once I reach a certain volume level. I think it would be much better (actually pretty darn good) if it had a more powerful amp. I was worried it might be a one note boom box, but it had some decent sound quality to it. IME/situation it works best at low to mid sound levels.

Purchased a new home entertainment system. Bought the CS20, TSi200,PSW125, and TSi500 speakers. This setup rocks! The sound is incredible! I'm running them through a 5 channel Pioneer receiver, and there isn't any distortion. Nice even sound heard throughout a 2,000 sq. ft. house.

Purchased 2 PSW 125's for Home Theatre use and after only around 10 hrs of very light use 1 has quit working. Power will not come on and the fuse is good. They worked great and I especially like the Speaker Level input option.
