Explosive Performance for Movies and Music
If you're looking for clean high output bass from a small stylish package, the PSW550 is the sub for you. Don't let the modest enclosure and driver size fool you. The 8 inch driver is remarkably robust, featuring a long-throw motor and suspension for deep, loud bass that belies its size. Patented Power Port venting further helps the PSW550 perform like a much larger subwoofer. Bigger subwoofers run and hide when confronted with the dainty but dangerous PSW550.
The PSW550 features:
- Long-throw 8-inch direct radiating subwoofer driver for deep bass
- Floor coupled Power Port bass vent for deep bass and high acoustic efficiency with low distortion
- High current power amplifier
- Magnetically shielded for safe placement near your TV
- Stylish high gloss black finish
- Auto on/off circuit that automatically turns your subwoofer on when it senses a program signal. When no signal is present, the amplifier turns off within 15 minutes
- Unfiltered LFE input for use with low pass filtered subwoofer output jacks
- Adjustable lowpass crossover, phase switch and volume control allows perfect blending with any main speaker.

Small footprint, excellent noiseless venting, can be configured like a low midrage if your amp has good bass mgmt., a good compliment to deeper subs.
Only that the controls are hard to access and can get bumped, especially the phase switch.
I added this 8" gem to my 7.2 surround system, which already had two 10" subs. I mounted it on a small shelf under my LCD, below my center channel, and pointed it right at the listeners' chests. The improvement was dramatic. Before, I had bass "rumble" but now I had bass "punch" that you could really feel, especially listening to rock music.

Small, responsive, incredible bass, nothing more to ask for.
Makes me wish I had better center and satellite speakers (I have the 7200)
I can't believe this is an 8" sub. Our baby's bed upstairs vibrates and items in the kitchen rattle. Try Batman&Robin (motorcycle scene!) or Independence day!!!

I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE RM7200 HOME THEATRE AND I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH ITS PERFORMANCE!

This monster produce spine chilling hometheater thunder thanks to a 100 watt 8 inch front firing subwoofer with downward firing port to reduce port noise while put you right in the middle of the action while you watch movies,it is also video sheild so you can put it near the televison.
The power on/off switch is on the rear of the subwoofer, this is incoviniat, so are the speaker volume, and the low pass filter.
PSW550 From the Acadamy Award wining Polk Audio, the PSW550 Hometheater Subwoofer produce spine chilling hometheater thunder thaks to an eight inch subwoofer with one hundred watts of power and a floor firing port that produce bass down to thirty-two hertz! (please see the subwoofer specification for complete information). However, the controls are at the back of the subwoofer so it is harder for you to find the power on/off switch and so on.
