Round, in-ceiling speaker with a 6 1/2-inch driver.
In-Ceiling Audiophile Magic
RC60i’s round profile looks just like a lighting fixture so it will blend into your ceiling without calling attention to itself. But they sound sooooo much better than your typical in-ceiling speakers that resemble a watering spout.
Easy one-cut, drop-in installation puts built-in audio within reach, with Perfect Fit templates, a precision flange, and (available) pre-construction brackets; achieve secure, vibration-free efficiency with a simple turn of the patented Rotating Cam system.
With infinite baffle tuning, RCi speakers utilize the "virtual enclosure" of your in-wall and in-ceiling space to enhance their bass response and smooth low frequency blending with the midrange.
Lightweight and stiff blue polymer cones deliver excellent damping and bass response.
Durable, computer-modeled, injection-molded butyl rubber surrounds suppress unwanted cone resonances for a lifetime of reliable sound.
Aimable swivel tweeters for greater accuracy and more realistic imaging. (All models except RC6s.)
Polk’s proprietary, patented Dynamic Balance® technology allows our engineers to design out distortion-causing driver and system resonances, so you only hear the good sounds.
Klipple motor optimization uses laser measurement technology to ensure a smooth excursion path at either end of the volume spectrum for uniform performance at both low and high volumes.
Rustproof stainless steel hardware, durable butyl rubber surrounds and powder coated aluminum (in-ceiling) & painted steel (in-wall) grilles make RCi Series speakers suitable for high moisture areas like bathrooms, transitional spaces or even under eaves or in the ceiling of an enclosed porch. (RCi series are not suitable for exposed outdoor use. For outdoor speaker fun, use our Atrium® Series.)
Paintable grilles let you build them in, and then forget all about them; RCi Series speakers practically disappear into any room.
RCi Series speakers are timbre-matched to other Polk speakers to insure utterly seamless blending from speaker to speaker in systems that combine traditional and built-in speakers.
All Polk products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

I know everyone hears differntly. I have read reviews where people claim the speaker they own is the best. Only to be greatly disappointed when sampling a pair for myself. I have sensitive ears. I can typically hear details that others can not. I am so picky about sound that I often just settle for speaker because I get sick of trying to find outstanding sound. These speakers do not provide much bottom end when compaired to larger speakers with bigger price tags. However, I tested these speakers against multiple speakers in many differnt price ranges and brands. When these played I closed my eyes and my head was filled with amazingly clear detailed sound. I like them better than most speakers that cost much more. Including towers and bookshelf speakers. Price was not that important at the time of purchase. Sound was. I could have spent more, but so far I can not see any reason why I would. Not sure they are priced right for the high quality sound they produce but whos complaining. Each of you will likely have differnt requirements for speakers. Clairity was more important than bass. And at this price or even a higher price these are amazing. I have a powered sub. It does just fine filling the gap. These are my back four speakers.

These speakers sound great, are easy to install, and are well-built. In addition, they're affordable.
I don't care for the technique of removing the grill cover....using a paperclip to pry it up. Minor, I know, unless you search your entire house for a paperclip only to discover you don't have a single one!
I bought these speakers for use as surround sound speakers in a 5.1 system. I finished my basement two years ago and pre-wired with 12 AWG in-wall wire, so installation was simply a matter of cutting the hole. The included cardboard templates made it very easy. These speakers are being driven by a Pioneer VSX 816 receiver. I've got the aimable tweeters pointed at the rear wall and these speakers really get the job done as surround sound speakers. I wasn't sure what to expect by usuing in-ceiling speakers as surrounds, but I'm very happy with the results! Overall, if your building a "budget" HT system like I was, I think these speakers will give you the best bang for your buck.

Installation is easy - the mounts are incredibly well designed, and the templates make the cut-outs a snap. The quality of the construction is also impressive. These are solid, well-built speakers -- not P.A. add-ons.
Wish the manual had a bit more about positioning as surround speakers.
I chose these for surround speakers when a new floor made running the wiring for wall speakers impossible. I thought they would be a compromise solution, but am just amazed by how good they are. They deliver a full-range sound, and the adjustable tweeter directs the sound to provide sufficient localization. They work better as surrounds than my dedicated units. They would clearly be excellent as second-room speakers.

Simple installation. Sound clarity and range. Price. American product.
These are impressive. Full spectrum, full power. I've used a set of these in a bedroom and another set as back left and right channels from a Harman/Kardon 7.1 Dolby Digital surround. Of the fifteen Polk Audio speakers I've used in my whole house audio system, the four of these RC60i's have been the most impressive. They even hit harder than my RC80i's when used in a bigger room.

LOUD AND CRISP..(with a 12-15 ft ceiling)
Not good with a tall ceiling 20ft+
Great speaker... I have six of these, good quality. but the 3 surrond speakers are not loud enough. my ceiling is 22ft. The front 3 are perfect wish i would have upgraded the 3 surrond ones. my onkyo SR504 and PSW 505 are a perfect match....

Easy installation. Look and sound excellent
For aesthetic reasons in my lounge I had to go with in-ceiling speakers as my surrounds. I have just installed the RC60i's. The speakers look wonderful and are incredibly neat. They install very easily - the wiring takes much longer than the speaker installation! One of my concerns had been that the sound from in-ceiling speakers would be limited to the area immediately below to the speaker positions. I am happy to say the RC60i's sound crisp and true, and I can hear the surround effect right at the front of my lounge as well.

easy to install, looks good
cannot handle a lot of input power, sound is not that great, just ok sound
not as good as i expected. believe me, no one would have done as research as me before buying speakers. i was about to buy the tc60i, then i thought about buying rc80i, finally ended up buying this. these are not that powerful but are cheap. if you want good sound, spend some money and buy the tc60i or rc80i (not as powerful as tc series)

Low cost, high quality, exceptional sound.
I am constantly amazed at the quality of these speakers. I bought the RC60i's for use as rear surround speakers for my 5.1 system. Each speaker is installed in the ceiling. To protect the speakers from summer heat, insulation, and dirt, I built 2'x2'x2' plywood boxes to sit above the ceiling. These boxes are lined with fiberglass insulation, and filled with Acousta-Stuf. Before I purchased the 5.1 receivers, I hooked the RC60i's up to my Denon stereo. They didn't perform quite as well as my high end tower speakers, but they weren't far behind. Not bad for a fraction of the cost of the towers. What constantly amazes me is the sound out of the RC60i's when listening to surround sound. The bass is tight and clean, and not at all boomy. The highs are crisp, and the tweeters can be aimed at your listening position. Their performance in a surround system as rear speakers is stunning.

Powerful, crisp full spectrum sound quality. Easy to install and conceal.
None that I can really think of.
These speakers are incredibly crisp! They sound great with all varieties of music and provide an incredible amount of power...considering their compact size. Don't think twice about purchasing these speakers!

Install extremely easy and clean, clean, clean. If you can use a dremel tool you can't mess it up. Great sound.
None, I will be replacing my center and sub with Polk speakers.
I was amazed at the sound quality from these. For an entry level hide away 7.1 system, these are probably the best bang for the buck. I used a dremel with the circle cutter attachment to cut the drywall. It took maybe five minutes per speaker to install (I already had the speaker wires ran.)

A few Months ago, I bought 3 pair's of the rc60i for my new home and my wife and I are very impressed. As well as my family and friends. I study many speakers and I found that these were the best quality and price for my needs. I also have in my home, 8 other polkaudio speakers that I am very proud to own.

Great Sound, Great Build Quality, Look Great, Very easy to Install!
The grill was hard to remove, ended up chipping some paint off while trying to remove it, but white-out easily fixed that.
I just installed two of these speakers in our dining room, and overall am extremely pleased. The instruction manual was easy to understand, and the mounting mechanism within the speaker is great! The hardest part of the job was picking a spot in the ceiling far enough away from studs and air ducts. For the price I paid, these speakers far surpass my expectations in terms of build quality, ease of installation, look, and sound quality. They are GREAT for dinner music, even cranked up, I hear a very nice, balanced sound. As others said, the bass isn't quite there but what do you expect from a 6.5" driver? And besides, who wants to hear thumping bass while eating dinner? These speakers are perfect, I highly recommend to anyone!
