Silver finish looks great with my Sony Wega set, unobtrusive size, soft shape, high quality output, solid construction.
Weaknesses:
Don't expect any terribly low sounds from the satellites, as the drivers just aren't big enough. For the price and my needs, bass is sufficient, but may not satisfy everyone.
Review:
I picked these up because the shop that had the right price on my chosen receiver stocked them instead of the Harmon Kardons I had considered. In the end, I am very pleased. More than enough sound to fill a medium-sized room, crisp highs (a weakness on the cheaper sets I tested), good separation. The bass is potent and musical. It's not the same as a more expensive 15" sub but it definitely does the job. In an overly large room, this may not be the right set, but they've utterly transformed my more modest home theatre.

Sound not quite good enough for a large room
Review:
I am a first time suround sound user. The first time I cranked these up, the entire house shook. I was blown away. However, my room is quite lare (approximately 15'x 20') After listening to several movies and CD's, I have come to the conclusion that I need to upgreade to something more compatable with my room size. You will love this system for it's price and sound, however the system becomes a a bit of a tease after a few weeks of tasting. I will leaving you craving for more if you have a large room. If not...go for it.

Review:
At $400 these speakers are a great buy. My room is 13X15. If your room meets those dimensions and you're on a budget, these are the speakers you want to buy. I am running an HK-120 receiver and the sound is excellent. I have had other HT owners over and they were impressed. The sound is crystal clear and fills the room. Perfect for smaller rooms. Definitely set the speakers up as Polk describes, you will not be sorry!

Review:
I am very pleased with these speakers. This is my first home theater set. Don’t let the 50 watts subwoofer make you think you are getting a weak sub. The thing I like the most about the sub is that it works independent of the receiver. I looked for a speaker/receiver set for 4 months. I wanted to keep it to a reasonable price. Circuit City packaged the speakers and a receiver together for a price I couldn’t pass on. I am very happy that I chose to go with my Polk/receiver combination.

Clarity of the high end, mid ranges where full also. No distortion when driven harder. The powered sub was a major reason why I decided to purchase.
Weaknesses:
Should have the wall mounting brackes built in.
Review:
I was very impressed with these speakers, tested many on the market, wanted the functionality of cubed speakers, but didn't want to give up to much sound quality. This set was perfect. Tested Sony, Klipsch, Jamo and these out performed them all, and at a great price.

Review:
Have had this package only for a short time, but WOW, what a difference. I don't know why I just didn't do this in the first place, have recently upgraded from some cheapy HT-in a box speakers. I've kind of piece mealed my system to my liking and I should have just done this in the first place. It sounds like it should sound now. Am using a Technics dx950 rec'r and it puts out nice and balanced now. Have this stuff in a den area and I'm rockin' the house now. The subwoofer hookup does work, I recommend JP3 and watchout!! Great package if not looking to break the bank.

Relatively low price, small satellites, great looks.

Binding post connectors would have been nice, setup for subwoffer is strange.
Review:
Very pleased with this system. Got it for around $400. Great sound quality for someone looking to set up a home theater for around $800. The sub has pletty of power even though it is rated at 50 watts. Make sure you have an extra set of speaker cables because of the way the sub hooks up.

Nice Titanium Color. Great Price. clear and Great Sound.
Weaknesses:
Speaker grill looks ugly. Better use this speakers with Settlelite speaker stands for better look.
Review:
I can't beleive great and very clear sound is coming from such small speakers. I got it for $288.00 (on Sale) at Fry's Electronics. However, only 5.1 system is available. for 6.1 configuration, you must purchanse extra speaker from Polk Audio. $80 for settlelite and $160 for Center. too expansive.

Great price and nicely balanced sound. Small and compact size.

Can't stop listening...may never leave the house again!
Review:
Compared against similar Bose and Harman Kardons...no competition. This set had the most crisp highs and punchy lows of the group. The recommended setup works really well. A buddy just spent much more for a set of Boston Acoustics and frankly, I can't tell the difference at all!

Review:
I purchased this system looking to down size from first system.(jbl) Compared it to all availible systems below $800, found no other system that has this level of clean, crisp, and full sound. Sound quality wasn't comprimised at any volume level. I am completely satisfied with new found love, RM6000.

The matching of the satelite/center/subwoofer speakers creates a seamless and complete surround stage.
Weaknesses:
There is a small but noticeable distortion with SUSTAINED low frequencies sounds in the 20 to 40 Hz range. Listeners whose musical tastes lean towards House or Hip Hop will want a larger subwoofer with a higher power rating.
Review:
I've just finished pulling 200 feet of high quality 14 gauge speaker wire through the walls of my new home theatre; as well as, 50 feet of electrical wires to power the converted closet that I am using as my equipment room. Now the pleasure begins. I played the Pearl Harbor DVD with DTS sound enabled. When the attack began, I could feel the bullets whizzing by my head and the heat from the flames of the explosions. These speakers are awesome. I matched the Polk Audio RM6000 with a harman/kardon AVR 120 receiver. An excellent combination. Even my uncle who spent $5000 on his Klipsh/Denon speaker/receiver combination was unable to discern any diminution in sound quality with my $400 selection (RM6000, $199; harman/kardon AVR 120, $199; both purchased on sale from Fry’s Electronics’). When listening to music, the combination of the Polk Audio RM6000’s image quality and harmon/kardon’s Logic 7 surround circuitry has breathed new life into my CD/MP3 collection. As a result, Sting, Mariah, Bono, Aerosmith, and Eric Clapton frequently drop in for midnight jam sessions.

What we hear (Quality) vs. what we paid (cost) for the speaker system the family and I are very pleased.
Weaknesses:
The center speaker sounds a bit "tinny." I will attempt some tweaking via the reveiver.
Review:
Very pleased. We have been looking to set up a surround sound home theater system for a few years. We test "drove" the Bose system (in a Bose store "theater," granted a larger room!) and can't hear the difference! Our "theater" is a small 200 sq. ft. in size. We put the Polk system on speaker stands at head level and the first time out watched Jurassic Park III and The Fast and the Furious. Excellent! Played a few CD's and they too sound great. We are using a Sony STR-DE685 Receiver bought with the speaker system at Circuit City. The DVD-CD deck is a JVC XV-M50BK. All work well together.

.very clean and crisp sound with nice complementary bass.
Weaknesses:
I wouldn't put them in a large room
Review:
I mated these speakers with an Onkyo 575 reciever in my bedroom, and are a replacement for a real cheap set of Sony speakers. I didn't want to spend too much money being that this is a second system. I came across these speakers and all I can say is thaat they exceeded my expectations. They are perfect for small rooms and I am now thinking of replacing my Bose with the RM7600's on my main system.

Great value for money. A well balanced, full range signal if set up according to the user manual.
Weaknesses:
Sub-woofer not shielded. Sad to see they are made in China.
Review:
What a great 5.1 speaker system! I am so glad I followed the user manual instructions about bass set up. It transforms the RM6000 into a truly top class home theatre system. The retailer's demo system was set up using the standard subwoofer output method which clearly diminishes its performance significantly. I matched the RM6000 with a Yamaha RX-V530, Loewe DVD and Loewe Widescreen TV. Room dimensions are 15’ by 14’. Excellent.

Price, fullness of sound, timbre matching, clarity.
Weaknesses:
Because the sats are so small, they don't hide my wall plates any more!
Review:
These speakers are superb. I replaced a combination of Bose front/center/sub and Technics rears with the RM6000 system. The timbre matching delivers clean true sound that is down right scary with good speaker placement - movies and music! Don't let the size fool you. I have these in a 22' by 18' room and it "fills" the room with sound very well. Set your crossover on your receiver to 150Hz if you have that capability (that is the low limit of the sats), and let the subwoofer do the rest to your taste.

Lots of Boom & Bang for the buck. Works well on many styles of music. The sub makes me feel the bathroom urge AND has a phase reverse and variable low pass filter! WORTH THE PRICE ALONE RIGHT THERE The feeling of rich on a poor guys buget!
Weaknesses:
The is a small mid-range hole in the sound spectrum but that is to be expected in this size and price.
Review:
I bought a "off the shelf" system at Curcuit City after looking around i noticed the lone Polk6000 sitting on a shelf looking so alone so i bought them at a good? price 259.00 I was excited after i set them up only to find that one speaker was no working....bummer. I am going to return the one to Circuit City and hope they will deal with it! I set up a pair of Pinnicle minis in place of my fronts and use the POLK sats and SUB. It is very sweet this way but i am looking forward to a balanced system the way POLK intended. I will keep you all posted on service as it progresses! I also run a small studio so i'm looking forward to using the sub for some MiXiNg with some Alesis M1's!

-Bright highs -Wide soundstage -Sufficient bass especially for size (8" 50w)
Weaknesses:
-If you want more than sufficient bass, a more powerful sub is recommended. (Get one later and use this on your computer or in the bedroom) - Weak spring connections ( a pet peeve of mine) Polk... Spring for binding post !
Review:
Very good system for the price of $ 179.00 YES $ 179 NEW IN BOX at a Super Fry's Sale in Oct. 2002. I have the fronts mounted on the ceiling above and L & R of the TV for a wide sound stage, the center 2 inches above TV and the surrounds wall mounted about 6' from floor behind main listening point. This system compares favorably to more expensive Bose AM 6 & 7 and HK (JBL) systems. In fact, the HK system at your local Circuit has a larger sub (100w) but does not compare with the smaller (50w)Polk Sub. However, while the Sub will deliver deep bass on most movies (think continous rumble and spontaneous explosions), if you listen to Hip-hip or dance music, you'll find yourself tweaking the bass levels (bass down.. volume up). Although conventional hookups use the sub out on receivers, follow the manual and use the high level inputs. Even with cross over controls on my receiver, there was a discernable better sound using Polk's recommended setup thus using the crossover in the sub. The new 6200 upgrades to a 100w sub and I may invest in a good polk sub for more bass... even with the added investment, this system is well worth it. You can find it on eBay for around $199-250 easy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Smooth med high and lows. Great size and look. Quality materials.
Weaknesses:
None, would recommend an upgrade to next highest subwoofer though.
Review:
I have bought Polk before and will buy them again after buying the rm6000. I bought these for 299.00 from crutchfield and pound for pound just what I needed for a 20x12 apartment living room. 50w amp, 8" Subwoofer is a little soft when in surround mode even with the recommended wiring. But was expected. Polk beats Bose and JBL on their high end and low end. I can't wait to get a bigger room and get the 7600 next. Polks are smooth!

It considered as a very good home theater set below $285 bucks!!
Weaknesses:
Center speaker sound is not good enough. Of course, we can't expect too much for little center speaker come with RM6000. You can upgrade to csi30 or above. Speaker shields is not removable. I would like to see how the speaker look like.
Review:
Overall, I give this RM6000 for 9 out of 10. It is a perfect home theater set for room less than 10 x 10 feet. No doubt for the price, you can get it less than $285 shipped on ebay. I still can believe a set less than $300 can produce this kind of sound. Speaker sound is clear, sub is good and it can rock your apartment down. What else I can say, go and buy one with little budget. Good Sound, Good Price, Best Buy!!

The 50 watt sub-woofer was not what I expected. I had so much power, I had to adjust the volume because my house was shaking. I could not believe how much power a 50 watt sub-woofer put out. That was my main focus was to replace the sub-woofer and keep my original speakers. I had a passive sub-woofer for about 8 years and I needed to upgrade. I commend the 50 watt sub - you have me sold.
Weaknesses:
The surround speakers to give out enough boost.
Review:
This is my second system and I was impressed. The price was right compared to other home theatre speakers and I received the sub-woofer free. I was a little shaky on the sub-woofer offer - 50 watts didn't seem strong enough for me. I had a passive 100 watt subwoffer and I thought it would be a difference go lower. I WAS WRONG.

Price/performance and they look sweet.
Weaknesses:
none for me in my little lounge room.
Review:
First time Home Theatre buyer and first and foremost I opted for the Polks because of price. Bought as a package with Yamaha DVD and AMP/REC it was good value for money and I liked the idea of having a seperates packages rather than a HTITB system (if that acronym is right...told you first timer). The shop set the speakers/AMP up and apart from the fact they got the speaker wires all mixed up with phases wrong they used the standard sub-woofer line connection into the AMP. We had the front and rears mounted on high picture rails in our small lounge and even when I corrected the phase wiring on the speakers it didn't really give a WOW surround sound. Plenty of thumping bass but not much surround. So I've just bought some satellite stands and now I've set them up exactly how Polk recommend in terms of placement and also the sub hook-up. AWESOME ! Now I'm happy with my purchase. I mentioned this to the shop and they still recommend going back to connecting the sub directly to get the true 5.1 ! If I could be bothered I'd do a littel comparison but I'm not sure I can ! Maybe later.

Clarity of sound - excellent bass, and crystal clear mid and treble.
Weaknesses:
Possibly a little quiet (perhaps!). Took a while to set up so that they sound REALLY good)
Review:
I bought these speakers in June 2003. As I live in the UK, I was only aware of POLK by name - nobody I knew had a Polk system, and I certainly never set out to by them. When I listened to them in the shop, I couldn't believe how crystal clear the sound was, and how superb the bass sounds coming from that (comparatively) tiny sub-woofer. They were just such a good price, that I had to have them. Now that I have them set up at home in my very strange shaped room, and having listened to them for four and a half months, I am more pleased than I thought I could be with the sound quality. I've heard a few systems at friends' houses, and they've heard mine too - I wouldn't swap these for anything I've heard to date. Polk, if these are indicative of the rest of your range, then I won't be buying any other make from now on.

Mid range is a bit weak
Review:
I don't understand how some reviewers complain about it not being that good for large rooms, this system is designed for small rooms. I have mine in the bedroom, and although I have a $10,000 system with projector in the living room I will happily listen/ watch using this system. The mid range is a bit weak and care needs to be taken when choosing music. However, with some AMP tweeking, good rich sound with plenty of volume can be achieved.

Review:
I was lucky enough to track down a demonstrator RM6000 from Sydney Australia. I went over and had a look at the product and "thought" it was a bit too small for what I wanted. At the time of looking, I decided not to purchase but came home and read the reviews for this product. Being a Polk / Polk Momo owner, I went back the very next day and purchased the product, as is simply on the customer reviews. Despite popular belief, size "doesn't" matter!!

Review:
I bought this system on recommendation of a sales clerk and so was skeptical about their abilities until I set them up and used them. I have them set up in a medium sized family room and WOW what sound. I can't believe people say the middle/center channel is weak and the subwoofer rattles the walls. I think it is a great system for the price.
