Six piece 5.1 channel home theater speaker system
Big Speaker Sound...Without the Big Speaker
Beauty and Brawn in One Compact System
Five compact speakers and a high performance Powered Subwoofer make up the RM6800 compact home theater speaker system. Its stylishly sculpted anodized Aluminum Satellites look awesome next to your plasma or flat screen television, and can be mounted either on the wall using their aimable brackets or on shelves. Either way, this system was designed for minimal intrusion into your space, and maximum sound quality. High tech materials and features, such as Satellite PowerPorts® and Subwoofer Slot Load venting technologies, ensure superior sub/sat system performance, delivering rich, full-bodied, big speaker sound from stylish, compact packages.
The RM6800 features:
- Stylishly curved satellite enclosures formed of heavy duty, non-resonant Aluminum; the shape breaks up internal standing wave resonance for pure, lifelike sound.
- Individual satellites available to accommodate 6.1 or 7.1 channel systems.
- The satellites feature Power Port Bass Vents hidden under the grilles to extend and strengthen their lower-midrange performance for a seamless blend with the subwoofer output. Unlike competing satellite systems, with this system you'll experience full, rich, natural voices and other midrange sounds.
Center Channel Speaker features an exclusive Center Channel Cradle that aims the speaker toward the listener, from above or below the TV.
- Satellites feature Bolt-On Swivel Wall-Mounting Brackets with hidden wire channels
- Threaded inserts on the back of the satellite and center speakers allow use of fully articulating brackets (sold separately).
- Satellites feature a 3-1/4 inch (8.25cm) Mineral Filled Polymer Dynamic Balance midrange driver for clear, distortion-free midrange.
- Center speaker uses two midrange drivers to handle the center channel's high output requirements with minimal distortion.
- Broad dispersion design allows everyone in the listening area to hear clear, well-balanced sound.
- Satellites feature high performance 3/4 inch (19mm) Dynamic Balance Silk/Polymer Composite Dome Tweeter for sweet highs and more lifelike imaging.
- Connect your RM Series Satellites securely and conveniently with their high quality 5-way binding post inputs.
- Powered Subwoofer with 10 inch driver and Slot Load Bass Vent pours out deep, efficient bass.
- Satellites are magnetically shielded for safe placement near your state-of-the-art TV or video monitor with no risk of video distortion.

Tonal quality and richness of sound is superior to other systems at any price. The retail on this unit was discounted nicely.
Weaknesses:
Minor annoyance of screw-down knobs on the rear of the speaker, especially on wall units requiring a ladder for installation.
Review:
My RM 6800 unit is driven by an Onkyo TX-SR502 receiver. This 450 Watt receiver is perfect for our home theatre area. With 11 foot ceilings and a glass wall with wooden flooring, I doubted the power of the sub in this speaker package. The sound from such small (and beautiful) speakers is truly remarkable. I call it "sweet sound." The sub-woofer delivers the goods on DVD input and is very fine and satisfying on CD input. I switched from Bose 901's to the Polk system and I wish I had done it years ago.

beautiful units. Packaged nicely arrived with no damage. Sounds really nice and I power with 45 amp HK high current amp. Power base is nice addition. very pleased. Priced fairly especially with Crutchfield discount. Had to buy expensive base cable however which really should be part of package. Ferd

Big sound, small package, good price. Package nice with no damage during shipping.
Weaknesses:
The ONLY thing that was a bit quirky are the thumbscrews on the back for the inputs.
Review:
Wow, I hooked up these speakers and couldn't believe the difference. I switched from 8 year old JBL bookshelfs to the Polk RM6800 purchased through Crutchfield for $740.00. Without switching receivers, (Yamaha RV-901), the sound quality is much improved. I would say you can't beat them in this price range. Nice compact size and the titanium color looks sharp. Worked well with the B-tech ceiling mounts that I also purchased through Crutchfield.

Review:
This is a superb system. When I got surround sound I moved my wonderful Polk 11 speakers and replaced them with this system. I was worried that I would lose sound quality. I was very surprised at how good this system is. I am very happy with this system and would recommend it to anybody that needs small speakers.

Great sound from a small package.
Weaknesses:
Overall "theater system" package lacks adequate mounting brackets. The ones included only allow for a few degrees left/right from center. They do not support ceiling mount. I expected more for MSRP of $850.
Review:
I really like the design. I listened to them in Frys and thought they were the best value for the money. I was dissapointed to find out that the speaker mounts that were included did not allow for ceiling or side wall mounting of speakers, nor did they allow the speaker to be tilted up/down. I was not expecting to need to spend another $80-$90 for mounting brackets. The incremental cost to provide better mounting brackets would have been minimal. I initially was only going to buy two pairs of surrounds as I already own a center channel speaker and surround speaker. I made my choice to buy the 6800 package because the "included" speaker brackets were going to save me a significant amount of money.

SOUND, SOUND, SOUND!!!
Weaknesses:
MOUNTING BRACKETS, INSTRUCTIONS VAUGE.
Review:
I WAS CONSIDERING BUYING BOSE SYSTEM. BUT HEARD THESE AT FRY'S AND THEY SOUNDED JUST AS GOOD FOR 1/2 THE PRICE. INSTALLED THEM AND THEY SOUND GREAT. THE ONLY DRAW BACKS WERE THE INSTRUCTIONS. THEY GAVE YOU A WIRING DIAGRAM BUT LEFT OFF MENTIONING THE LINE IN FOR THE SUB OR WHAT THE NORMAL\REVERB SWITCH. I AGREE TOO THAT THE MOUNTING KITS COULD BE IMPROVED. AS NICE AS EVERTHING ELSE IS I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT THEY WOULD SWIVEL. OVERALL VERY HAPPY WITH PURCHASE

Great sound, quality look and feel.
Weaknesses:
Sub could be a little more substantial, but it still does a very good job.
Review:
I've had mine for over a year and I'm happy to say that this was a worthwhile purchase. Mine are mounted on stands so brackets weren't a problem. What was provided was sufficient for most and should'nt be a deciding factor on your purchase. These speakers sound great to me and I know you're taste may be different to mine. I've been a musician for over 30yrs and my taste ranges from classical to classic rock and these speakers handle everything nicely. Soft to loud and in between, they perform well. DVD, CD, MP3, HDTV, etc. all sound great! Nicely made, they look and feel great. My center speaker was knocked to the floor and only suffered minor damage to the grille. A call to a most helpful customer service got me a replacement in just a few days. I'm indeed very happy with the product and the company. Buy with confidence.

Mid-range
Weaknesses:
Sub-woofer was a bit large, but sounds good.
Review:
Compared with KEF, Bose and Klipsch and found these to out perform the others. Originally was going to buy KEF, but compared side to side and made the change and was glad I did. Priced considerably less than the others as well. Very solid product with sharp crisp mid-range and highs. Bass is good and blends well with the satellites. I highly recommend this product. Matched up with a Onkyo 604 and it is a perfect system that is also esthetically pleasing to the eye. Nice!
