Good tone and balance. Fairly high range of treble and bass for such small speakers. And the size is very compact, making for a clean install.
Weaknesses:
haven't found any yet.
Review:
I have a JVC RX-8040B 7.1 Receiver and went looking for a Bose system to complete it. I listend to the polk system and never even thought about the Bose system afterwards. I completed the Polk system with a pair of Polk inwall RC55i speakers. I couldn't be happier.

Clean, crisp sound from satellite speakers. Stylish design, (looks great beside my 55" Sony Grand Wega).
Weaknesses:
Subwoofer does not put out the power I expected to get, although it is upgradeable.
Review:
I recently picked up this home theater speaker package from Polk and I am glad that I did. As someone who watches movies and has an ear for quality audio, this set was great for me. The one thing that I like is the fact that I can change the subwoofer if need be. The sound of the speakers in my room are definately loud enough to enjoy anything from movies to video games. The one draw back about the system and it is minor, is an apparent lack of deep bass from the subwoofer. Although it is decent for most, I myself like to have kicking bass, when watching a war movie, or playing the latest video games. Other than the subwoofer lacking enough power for my standard of bass, this system is perfect! The fact that I can upgrade the subwoofer to something more powerful takes away any cons from this system. I would recommend it to anyone!

Clarity and power for the size

Review:
These speakers are AMAZING. I made my own home theater with polk audio speakers, center and sub, but i was looking to upgrade. Saw this amazing package for a similar price and it is far more than what i would have ever expected. I've been looking at several types of speakers and this package blew most of them by far.

Review:
I highly recommend this Polk system and give it a 5 out of 5. It fills the room with clarity, definition and such perfection of quality sound. My Harmon Kardon (avr-225) receiver has finally come to life! I am sorry to admit that I was a sucker for the Bose am-10 series II system, but not for long. Some reviews that I have read on this particular system stated that the Polk RM6900’s make the Bose (am-10 series II) system sound like an A.M Radio! I am now hearing the reality of that review. A couple of my friends were over the other night…. They were highly impressed with this system. I also like the fact that they do come with speaker mounts and optional stands verse other brands do not. Speaker mounts can run up to $29.99 each. I have never written reviews before on any product; however, I had to on this system because I am really impressed and hope to have others read it such as you before you make your decision and waste your hard earned money to purchase other brands. Good job, well done Polk!

Good quality sound with competitive price.
Weaknesses:
Sub woofer can be bigger in order to deliver deeper bass.
Review:
I was a Bose big fans and have at least three sets of Bose speakers. Walked in to Circuit City and wanted to puchase the Bose AM15. Sales demostrated the Polk RM6900 & compared with AM15. It threw the Bose away from my shopping list. Polk provides not only competitive price, but also high quality sound performance. Polk's sound is more crystal and dynamic. No more proprietary cables or speaker stands. Polk is awesome.

The best system for the money.
Weaknesses:
If only there were more scenes when the rear channels were used.
Review:
WOW!!!! I bought this system with the Sony KBR-60xs955 Tv and matching stand, Yamaha RXV-1500 reciever and Sony upconversion DVD player. I have to say, it is unbelievable. My neighbor has a $ 13,000 Dreamvision projector, with a denon reciever and extremely costly wall mounted speakers. Believe it or not, we spend more time at my place then his. The sub-woofer on this system shakes the house when watching the opening sequence of Master and Commander and with over 200 wats of power, my system sounds and looks better than in the movie theater. The center channel is unbelievable, watching to my Pearl Jam, Stones, and Led-Z DVDs are amazing. You hear words that not even your Ipod reveals. But when the system really is mind-blowing, is when playing Xbox or PS2 with an optical 5.1 input. Everything registers, there is no comparision, and there is no lag time in sound output. These speakers have saved me from being discovered many times in Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Plus the color is awsome and it matches perfectly with any contemporary room. If your willing to spend a lot of money for a system, but don't want to spend more on speakers than you did on your car, buy these.

Quality workmanship, great "full" sound, from the lows through the mid-range all the way up to the high notes. Nice looking; very modern looking. Comes with speaker stands and all the necessary hardware to hang them up on your walls. Subwoofer fits into smaller areas than those big subwoofers.
Weaknesses:
Maybe a little more "punch" from the subwoofer, but even though it sounds great, I am still moving it around to see what the best placement is.
Review:
First of all, these speakers are no light-weights. The box was heavy (The UPS delivery woman was very happy I was there to help her takeit off the truck and bring it into the house). When I opened the box, each speaker had some weight to them as well. These are well-constructed speakers. I was only glad to pack up my Bose Acoustimass speakers and connect the RM6900's. After I hooked them all up, the sound was so "full" that I was not liking it. That was because the Bose sounded like a cheap set of speakers, while the Polk sounded like expensive ones - which they weren't. I got used to that "cheaper" sound. After tweaking and setting up the bass management system the way Paul DiComo (the sound whiz guy from Polk) suggested, everything came alive. I was hearing the highs in the symphonies and the lows in the DVD movies - the car crashes are amazing. But the best part is that there is no loss of mid-range either. That's what makes it a "full" sound. I put my Bose speakers up for sale - which sold in a few days, and I'm one happy camper. Thank you Polk, and Paul DiComo for the personal touch that is so hard to find these days in corporate America. I would recommend the RM6900 to anyone who is serious about music, HDTV and movies. This is a great all-around speaker system that is a steal.

Good bass. The system sounds good at both high and low volumes.
Weaknesses:
Poor instructions. Lousy optional rear speaker stands.
Review:
The RM6900 package is great. I've had mine for over a week now and have tried it on both music and movies and have never enjoyed listening to a soundtrack more. After reading reviews, I was a little concerned about the bass performance, but after hooking up the system the way Polk suggested, I am not dissappointed. The bass will vibrate you out of your seat during the opening of "Saving Private Ryan" or the "Phantom of the Opera." The only weaknesses of the system I have found are in the operating instructions (none) and the optional speaker stands (poor design). The opering instructions tell you how to attach the front speaker stands and run the wires and little else (how do you set up and adjust the sub??) The Polk web site did help in filling in the gaps. The optional rear speaker stands are not worth the money. I had to take out my drill and modify them just so they look acceptable.

Great bass for movies and music. Clear Highs, excellent dialoge in movies. Build Quality is Awesome.
Weaknesses:
Mids are weak (tiny drivers tho)
Review:
Great 5.1 setup. With a decent A/V receiver this becomes the best HTIB one can find. My results have been quite different from some of the other reviews, I found the bass to be tight and full. With the gain set at 3/4 it will shake the room when watching Master and Commander. The highs are nice and clear. Although not as defined as with paradigm setup. The mid range lacks abit but all together the setup produces a well balanced sound.

Review:
Très satisfait. Avec ma Sony 43pouces(2003) c'est un bon combo. Et encore plus heureux du prix : 1000$ canadien plus taxes (15%)pour un récepteur Sony STR-DE598 + Polk RM6900.Futur Shop (Chicoutimi). 10 août 2005.

Sound is superb, size and attractive looks make this set fantastic.
Weaknesses:
Not many, but if rears were identical to fronts would be better. No rear center speaker included.
Review:
Beautiful sound and attractive design. No need for the huge, floor space hogs that some speakers are. Matched sound is fantastic and one of the best systems around. When price is considered, this system rocks! Thanks Polk.

Strong (enough for my small room) base and sounds great, good-looking speakers.
Weaknesses:
Poor manual, awful opt. floor stands, have to buy extra speaker for 6.1 system.
Review:
Excellent speakers system in this price range (esp. when comparing with Bose). I also purchased the extra matching surround speaker for the 6.1 ch setup. Using it with my Pioneer VSX1015, the system rocks! DO NOT BUY the optional floor stand though because it doesn't work right, and as commented by other reviewers, modification is necessary (involves drilling, ughh...)

Good tone and balance. Fairly high range of treble and bass for such small speakers. And the size is very compact, making for a clean install.
Weaknesses:
Missing wall mount brackets, but suspect the problem lies with the retailer.
Review:
This being my first full surround sound system, I am very pleased. The room is about 15 X 20, and this system is powered by my new Yamaha 5990 receiver. The supplied YPAO creates a nicely balanced room, with very clear vocals for movies, and a nice seperation while listening to CDs. I suspect with further tuning and understanding of all the different surround sound setups, I will be able to improve the system even more. Overall, I'm very pleased with these speakers.

"Installation of the satellites is an exercise in simplicity that I found refreshing...Unlike many home theater in a box systems, I was able to breeze through installation painlessly."
"...it's refreshing to see a company like Polk Audio care about the product that has their name on it. The RM6900 wasn't just made to fill a niche, it was carefully crafted to sound like an expensive large speaker at the fraction of the cost and size."
"Just as the satellites sounded much bigger than their size inplied., so did the subwoofer. The transition between the detailed airy midrange of the satellites and the punchy bass was quite good. Dialog from the center channel was well represented during movie playback and vocals in music content were smooth and dynamic."
"...I would recommend this system to anyone seeking quality sound from a small package."
