RM7500
Six piece, 5 channel home theater speaker system with slim satellites and a powered subwoofer (packaged separately**).
Big Speaker Sound...
Without the Big Speaker
Home Theater for The New Millennium
When it comes to design and performance in satellite/subwoofer home theater speaker systems, nothing tops the innovative RM7500 system. The uniquely designed, shallow-depth full-range satellites and center channel speaker of the work magic when mounted on the wall, especially next to today's hot new flat panel video screens. And the robust powered subwoofer blends seamlessly and adds heart-pounding bass to your favorite audio and video experiences.
The RM7500 includes four identical satellites, a matching center channel speaker and a powered subwoofer (packaged separately**).
The RM7500 satellites and center speakers feature:
- High gloss black laminate finish
- Satellites and center are a mere 5.25" deep
- Sleek, rounded design minimizes cabinet-edge diffraction for more open, spacious sound
- Built-in wall mount system
- Patented Power Port bass venting technology reduces air turbulence at the mouth of the bass port, resulting in demonstrably lower distortion and improved low frequency extension
- Magnetically shielded for safe placement next to your TV without picture interference
- Anti-diffraction driver bezel minimizes grille diffraction for open, spacious and three-dimensional imaging
- Cascade tapered array on the center channel avoids the common comb filter and "beaming effect" problems of side-by-side center speakers. Everyone in the room hears the same clear, natural dialog and center channel effects
The RM7500 subwoofer (PSW650) features:
- Two 10 inch direct radiating subwoofer drivers -- nearly 50% more surface area than a single 12" driver -- for deep bass, smooth response and low distortion
- Dual Power Port bass ports for deep bass and high acoustic efficiency with low distortion
- High current 165 watt RMS power amplifier
- Subwoofer volume control, variable crossover control and phase switch allow you to optimize performance to match your audio system, room acoustics, and program material
- Auto on/off circuit that automatically turns your subwoofer on when it senses a program signal. When no signal is present, the amplifier turns off within 15 minutes
- +3dB bass boost switch provides increased output when connected to electronics with low output subwoofer output jacks
- Unfiltered LFE input for use with low pass filtered subwoofer output jacks
- Speaker and line level inputs
- 80Hz High-pass filter on both line level and speaker level outputs
**Satellites are packaged in one carton, subwoofer in another. This gives you the freedom to choose the Polk subwoofer model that is right for you. Some retailers independently price the satellites and subwoofer. Be sure to clarify what components are included when considering any RM Series system price tag or quote.

Clean, clear, BIG sound.
Weaknesses:
Draw a lot of power; you need a high-current amplifier to run these little guys.
Review:
These small-to-mid size satellites definitely provide some BIG sound. If you set the LFE crossover properly, then there's no reason why you can't get as good, if not better, sound from the 7500s as you could from a tower speaker. On music they are crisp and clear with good bass response (again, with a properly set crossover), and on movies they will literally blow you away, even in a medium-to-large size room. Mated with the PSW650 subwoofer, they ARE that good. The only problem I have had with my Polks is that they draw a LOT of power, especially on more demanding material. I also used them for my stereo music-only listening, and they totally demolished a Kenwood receiver that I had, blowing out the transformer. That's right, the satellites blew out a receiver. In any case, I have since remedied the situation and use them strictly for home theater use (opting to use the also-excellent R50 towers for my music-only listening), with a more powerful receiver. If you can still find these somewhere (they've been discontinued), I would suggest giving them a shot. I know you won't be disappointed by their sound, and the finish is luxurious enough to suggest a higher-end system (although you won't have to tell anyone about how relatively inexpensive they were).

Clear, crisp, well balanced bass, mids and highs. The sub has so much power it blows you away!
Weaknesses:
What, where?
Review:
The best surround speaker system I had so far. I have not even looked at a new system since I bought them 4 years ago. Excellent for music and movies. If you set the crossover right you do not need floor standing speakers for music. Nice stylish piano black finish. You need a lot of juice to drive them.

Sleek unobtrusive design.
Weaknesses:
Subwoofer doubles as a small ottoman.
Review:
I have had the RM 7500s for a little over 10 years now and I have worn out the Onkyo TX-DS898 receiver before the speakers! They still sound as good as the day I bought them. I now have to find a new receiver to power these bad boys. Too bad you can now longer still get these. A classic is always in style.

none!
Review:
I have owned my RM7500/w/sub system since 2000 and have used them in my master bedroom for 13years.They are quite frankly superb for either stereo or 5.1 surround.I have mine powered by a 70 watt Harmon/Kardon reciever and they are great performers! I highly recommend them and they match the flatscreen TV's too with their flat design and piano black finish! Thanks Polk for building such a great system that lasts!!
