Real wood. Real high performance.
The RT2000i incorporates several exclusive Polk technologies -- like Dynamic Balance and exclusive Power Port -- and combines them with a heckuva built-in subwoofer. For music or home theater you will luxuriate in deep bass, truly lifelike clarity and surprising three-dimensional imaging. And our real wood finishes perfectly compliment today's natural decor.
And don't feel held back; if you're looking to assemble an exceptional system or fill a very large room with sound, feel free to add a powered sub to your RT2000i set up.
The RT2000i features:
- Designed for superior home theater and music performance
- Ground shaking bass from built-in twin 8" subwoofers with a downward-firing Power Port for low distortion; great performance even from low power receivers
- Dual 8" woofers feature nearly the same surface area as a single 12" woofer but are lighter and more responsive than larger woofers for superior musicality and detail
- Low level (RCA type) subwoofer inputs
- Dynamic Balance Driver Cone for wide response and low distortion
- Dynamic Balance Tri-Laminate Tweeter technology, with vapor deposited micro-layers of stainless steel and aluminum for clear, detailed highs
- Available in three natural wood finishes, each standard and at no extra cost: choose from Maple, Cherry and Black Oak
- Magnetically shielded for safe placement next to your TV without picture interference
- Anti-diffraction driver bezel minimizes grille diffraction for open, spacious, 3-dimensional imaging
- Slim tower design conserves floor space, the RT2000i occupies less than 1 square foot
- Gold-plated 5-way binding post inputs for the most secure wire connections
- Adjustable leveling feet/carpet spikes for the ultimate stability on any type of floor
Wood at Vinyl prices - The first thing you'll notice about the RTi Series is their luxurious real wood finishes: beautiful light Maple, inviting Cherry, and serious Black Oak. What will really surprise you, though, is that you won't pay a premium for these distinctive real wood finishes. Our in-house computer controlled woodworking factory, we can offer these rich finishes at prices you'd normally pay for vinyl.
After the look, there's the sound. Just like the legendary RT Series before them, the RTi Series fit the bill whether you're looking for excellent home theater speakers or truly exceptional and musical speakers (because we all know that home theater speakers really have to do a lot more than just provide good movie sound). These RTi Series speakers have the dynamic range and powerful bass response you want for extraordinary home theater sound, and the clarity, spacious imaging and smooth response necessary to make everything from the latest techno-grunge rock, to your favorite recording of "Don Giovanni" sound simply fantastic.

Imaging, depth and sound quality
Weaknesses:
could use a bit beefier sub amp
Review:
I aquired the RT2000i's as an upgrade from the RT1000i's. Very sweet speakers indeed. Very detailed midrange and highs and just enough bass to blend smoothly. The build quality on these speakers is top notch..from the gold binding posts to the wood veneer finish... they are a heavy speaker- but sit well. Definatly no plans to get rid of them...except for maybe som Lsi25's :)

Sounds better than any speaker I've heard for the money. Great in smaller rooms. Try them!
Weaknesses:
Sound quality in large, open spaces is greatly diminished. This is true to some degree of all speakers... but open space seems to especially degrade the sound of these guys. Not usually an issue in my modest home :)
Review:
I replaced RT1000s with these. I had been verypleased with the RT1000s but these speakers blew my mind. In a smallish room (12'x14') they are incredible! I am no expert on speakers, but I have been listening to theses speakers for over a year now and they still will suprise me from time to time. I hear subtle things in songs that I have listened to for years and never noticed on my previous systems. Honestly they have more than enough bass for accurate playback of any music style.. or window rattlin floor shakin boom boom if that's your thing. don't let the lower power on the built in amps fool you. In movies, the sound is so powerful it will catch you off guard. Overall, definately give these a try... and as a general note, don't buy speakers based on how they sound in a store. Try them in your home! If the store isn't willing to let you do this, find a real audio store, they will be happy to help you.

Sound quality, bass response, user adjustments, and on and on.....
Weaknesses:
Just the weight - I moved them ONCE up a flight of stairs by myself. Now they are at home on the first floor, never to be moved again!!
Review:
Dynamic sound across the entire frequency, from the deep lows to the highs. Sounds great on all of my applications, including home theater and music. Replaced a pair of Jamo HiFi loudspeakers with these.

Delivers deep rich flawless sound
Weaknesses:
Couldn't find a weakness in these speakers if I tried.
Review:
In a world where a complete home theatre system is becoming more and more popular there is nothing that compares to these impressive towers when listening to music or to a movie at a price that is affordable.

Review:
Polk Audio is one of the few mass-production companies which can provide sound which pleases both the casual listener and audiophiles alike. The 2000\'s only re-enforce this reputation. Purchased as floor models from Circuit City, I instantly fell in love with their dynamic sound providing crystal clear highs to heart-thumping bass. After two years of intensive use, I have yet to find any track which they cannot reproduce with ease. Quite the contrary, I am still achieving new heights as I upgrade my sources. If you wish for nothing more then to impress your friends or shatter your neighbors house to the floor, but do not wish to spend an enormous amount of cash, then these are for you. Be it if you are listening to your favorite tracks, or watching your favorite movie, they will treat your ears to details you never even heard before. With everything comes sacrifice, these are not lightweights. The speakers are also incredibly accurate and can pick up flaws in the cable and/or source, meaning you will need decent equipment to drive them. The Polk Audio RT2000\'s are truely audiophile speakers sold at consumer prices.

Looks, mids and highs, build quality, and built in adjustable floor spikes.
Weaknesses:
Lacks in volume, musical bass, fairly weak amp, and the 8" drivers just don't cut it.
Review:
Was a definate improvement over my original but still have weaknesses. The subs distort fairly easily and the speakers lack in the upper bass lower mid area. Almost a need for a larger mid driver. Very nicely built and heavy. Attractive system that really adds to the look of the home theater. Overall they are decent but I think I would have been better off with a non powered speaker with larger drivers.

Beautiful, transparent imaging. Frighteningly accurate mids. Customer service next to none.
Weaknesses:
The space where the mids crossover to the subs. Those frequencies are sorely missed.
Review:
Before the RT2000i, I have never owned a pair of speakers in my life. I have had them for about a year now, and they rock! Dude, I got real drunk the night before my wedding. My friends rolled over to my house for the after hours party. Unfortunately I didn't realize how loud I turned my speakers up. I accidently blew one of my RT2000i's out, but the good people at Polk replaced all the damaged parts at no cost!! What a great company!

Superior sound quality. Excellent crafted cabinet.
Weaknesses:
Could use a more powerful amp for the subs.
Review:
I acquired these speaker because I have heard so much talk about polk products. For the price and quailty you get in these speakers some of your high end companies will lose hands down. Keep making supberb products.

Clear rich flawless sound, quality unsurpassed by anything else that I have heard.
Weaknesses:
None, unless you call no longer available by Polk a weakness.
Review:
Truly the best pair of speakers I have ever owned. I have the CS1000P for my center channel, the RT2000i for my front speakers, and two pairs of RC60i for my side and rear surround. What a system!!!!

"...these are really 'audiophile' speakers, not boom-boxes for the HT crowd. At the same price of a snobbish tiny bookshelf you buy a large, wood finished, subwoofer-equipped, good sounding floorstander that will give you all the bass your minimonitors always let you dream of. And no, you won't lose quality in the mid-high range, as these are fine, detailed and transparent performers with ANY kind of Music...True audiophile sound at consumer prices."
