Two-way bookshelf speaker
The RT35 is the successor to the RT5 that was widely praised by the audiophile press. It is a prime example of Polk's philosophy of incredible sound at an affordable price. It rivals the sound quality of audiophile monitor speakers but at a price nearly everyone can afford. It features:
- Designed for superior home theater and music performance
- Polk's exclusive Dynamic Balance technology for wide response and low distortion
- Exceptional deep bass response provided by patented Power Portª venting technology (Power Port mounted on the back of the enclosure)
- Anti-diffraction bezel and grille system minimizes grille-edge reflections (diffraction) for more open, spacious and life-like imaging
- Smooth, natural midrange reproduction thanks to patented Acoustic Resonance Control technology
- Magnetically shielded for safe placement next to TVs without picture interference
- Wall mounts via a key hole slot that is molded into the rear-mounted power port
- 5-way binding post inputs for the most secure wire connections

Well made, big sounding, match perfectly with other Polk RT's
Can't think of any
I'm using these as surrounds with RT1000P's and CS400 up front. Despite having a silk dome tweeter, they are well matched to their counterparts and I hear no discernible difference between them. The only way I can describe the sound is big and unhindered. These speaker convey surround effects perfectly. I've heard smaller speakers try and fail miserably.

John Potis, SoundStage.com, August 1999
"Soundstaging was one of the first things that stuck me. These budget priced speakers were throwing an excellent soundstage, extending well beyond the boundaries of their physical locations and even the soundstage height was taller than it had any right to be."
"... this is one well-balanced, neutral and uncolored speaker for the asking price, placing it at least in the running for the title 'best in class'."
"Polk's RT35s are one of only a few under $500/pr speakers I'd own and enjoy. If you think that this is just reviewer's rhetoric, you should know that I happen to own four of their little brothers- the RT25s, which spend time in the theater, when I'm between review samples. As good as the RT 25s are, the RT35s represent a large improvement in terms of smoothness, dynamics and bass. Particularly when coupled with a subwoofer, their excellent dynamics, soundstaging, imaging and uncolored midrange make them a great bet for both an inexpensive music system and theater."

"I have heard few speakers at any price that could match them [RT35s] in the vocal-reproduction department."
"...the bass line was surprisingly firm and solid down to about 35 Hz(!), with no spurious noises or serious doubling that I could hear. This system also had considerably less port-wind noise than I have heard with similarly sized, ported systems, and I think we can attribute that to the power-port feature...remarkable performance..."
"I have to conclude that as a basic speaker system, the RT-35 (and by default, almost certainly the RT-55 and RT-1000P models) is an exceptional product."
