Wood at Vinyl prices - The first thing you'll notice about the RTi Series is their luxurious real wood finishes: beautiful light Maple, inviting Cherry, and serious Black Oak. What will really surprise you, though, is that you won't pay a premium for these distinctive real wood finishes. Our in-house computer controlled woodworking factory, we can offer these rich finishes at prices you'd normally pay for vinyl.
After the look, there's the sound. Just like the legendary RT Series before them, the RTi Series fit the bill whether you're looking for excellent home theater speakers or truly exceptional and musical speakers (because we all know that home theater speakers really have to do a lot more than just provide good movie sound). These RTi Series speakers have the dynamic range and powerful bass response you want for extraordinary home theater sound, and the clarity, spacious imaging and smooth response necessary to make everything from the latest techno-grunge rock, to your favorite recording of "Don Giovanni" sound simply fantastic.

Review:
After getting these speakers home, hooking them up to my JVC 8010v, and turning on the sound of my latest DnB CD, I was vastly impressed by the bass handling capability of the speaker. The high frequency response was also very good, as each highhat crash came in loud and clear.

Review:
I have never owned a decent pair of speakers, so I had no idea what to expect when i was plugging my 600i speakers into my reciever. Wow!, it was like Van Morrison himself was putting on a private concert right in my room!!! The vocals and instruments sound amazingly real. Very clear and crisp,I would rate these speakers not too far behind the PSB Image 4t, as I have heard them in a local audio store. Great work Polk, you have another very satisfied customer, and a loyal consumer from here on.

Review:
I just received 2 pairs of the RT600i speakers which I obtained on closeout at an excellent price. My audio system set-up is: Amp - Onkyo DS575X Front - RT600i Center - CS 245i Sub - PS350 Rear - RT600i I previously was using some Boston Acoustic HD9 speakers for the fronts and two Polk R40s for the rear speakers. This arrangement sounded great; however, I need the Boston bookshelf speakers in another room on another system so I was looking for some replacements. I thought about purchasing two more R40s but then I ran across the great buy on the RT600i which more closely match my CS245i center speaker in terms of speaker size and tonal quality and decided to buy them. They sound great! I tried them out right away with my recently purchased Lord of the Rings DVD. The overall quality of the highs and mids was outstanding! I then took them for a spin with several CDs--from pop to country. Again, I was not disappointed. I tried them out using the 5 speaker stereo setting and then as stereo using just the fronts. The bass was suprisingly good although I recommend a sub for movies. I am sorry to see that this series of speakers is being discontinued but I am confident that Polk's new lines will be equally if not more impressive!

The Dynamic Balance features of this speaker are most notable in comparrison with other brand speakers I've owned. I have recently purchased the package including the PSW 250 sub & the Polk center channel. Now I would like to update my reciever to fully enjoy the quality of the my package.

Clarity, low sibilance, large sweet spot.
Weaknesses:
Bass, buy a sub with these if you like some boom in your room.
Review:
Realism. If thats what you are looking for, then these are it. I have to say that if you REALLY want the most out of an action movie, a subwoofer is a much needed addition. However, if you throw on a live concert CD, its damn close to being there. A tad short on the low end, but the mids and highs are amazing for this price point. I am happy with these, at least until I can afford a pair of Martin-Logan's :-)

Review:
Polk you never stop amazing me! These speakers are outstanding for the size and price. Extremely clear and the mids are awesome. Pair these up with a good sub and be prepared to be blown away by sound or just use them as is and still be amazed. I can't get enough of them. Thank you Polk Audio!

Against: very weak bass
Review:
I got a pair of these 600I yesterday at a local Circuit City in Miami; Florida. They were floor samples but with the same warranty as a new pair. I am extremely impressed by the sound quality. The highs and mids are loud and clear. The bass; unfortunately is very weak,re- gardless of bass setting in my Onkyo receiver. If you like deep bass, get a sub-woofer;then you will be completely satisfied...

one of the strenths of the Rt600 is the clarity, and all sound that comes out the such small speakers.
Weaknesses:
the only weakness i can think of is that, it stand a lot power because, the speaker doesnt have a lot of room to flex.
Review:
i think the Rt600 is one of the finest speakers i have used. the clarity is fantastic.

The detail of sound is truly awesome, they outclassed the competition listening to every music genre.
Weaknesses:
None other than their old skool looks, however speakers are to be heard not looked at if you want art buy a picture if you want awesome sound then look no further unless you want to spend £1000+
Review:
Using these speakers purely for hi-fi with a Roksan Kandy amp and Cambridge Azur 640c cd player I was blown away.I have compared many speakers some costing three times as much and NONE even come close. The sound detail is amazing I can hear fret noise and the fingers moving on the strings between chord changes, most noticably on acoustic recordings. They also outclassed everything else on their bass response it is clean, quick and clear never complicated the overall sound. The other main speakers I am using are Wharfedale evo 20 and Acoustic Energy evo3,they may look nicer but the sound isn't anywhere near as pure and full.

Excellent sound quality, durable attractive finish.
Weaknesses:
None really.
Review:
I have used a pair of the RT600i speakers with the cherry wood finish for a few years along with a Polk PSW12 Subwoofer, Harmon Kardon reciever, 4 ch Radio Shack Mic. Mixer and a Pioneer Dvl-V888 Laser/CDG/DVD/Video CD karaoke player that I use as a home set up as well as for public karaoke events. The RT600i speakers have been used in every setting from small rooms to gymnasiums and even a ball room. I've always receieved a lot of compliments on the sound quality. The cherry wood laminate is very durable and the speakers almost look new still after hauling them all around town for a few years (with padding). I don't have room in my home for big PA speakers, so these Polks have really served me well for karaoke events and also for my small living room.

2 Words---Dynamic balance. Full, warm, clear highs-midbass.
Weaknesses:
Sub needed for HT. But thats why they are my rears, and I have the RT1000i's for my fronts.(Built-in subs)
Review:
These are one of the best pairs of speakers I have ever owned. I am running an all reference theater setup, RT1000i's in the front, CS1000p as my center, and RT600i's coming in at the rear. They are pushed by an Onkyo M-282 amp through a Sony TA-e9000es preamp at 100wpc rms. I used them in a 2ch rig for a little while and was very impressed by how musical they were.Wide soundstage, Just amazing speaker overall. My first Polk speaker was a CS400, all I can say is, these wont be my last.

E-Gear Magazine, Spring 2000
"...the Polk's are clearly a winner. At this price, they're a steal, the best system I've heard to date in this price range."
The Perfect Vision, May/June 2001
"Let me jump right to the chase-this Polk system is fun...Polk nails the fundamentals...this Polk sextet [RT600i, CS400i, f/x500i and PSW650] allows just about anyone to own and enjoy an exceptionally good home-theater speaker system."
TNT-Audio, September 2001
"Polk has created a loudspeaker that is at once clean and natural sounding, detailed without being overbearing, and very user-friendly... Not only is the RT600i an excellent sounding speaker, it is practical choice. It is practical not only because it is moderately-priced, it is also practical because it is modestly-sized. With less than one square foot of base area per speaker, they are easy to place in almost any listening area. The RT600i loudspeakers fill a room with rich sound that belies their low price."
