Polk Audio rocked the car stereo world in the spring of 2005 with the introduction of the SR6500 Signature Reference component/coaxial system hailed by Car Audio & Electronics magazine as "...the best performance, the best cosmetics the best engineered" component system. The same attention to detail and performance we brought to the SR6500 system we now offer in the all-new Signature Reference SR124 and SR104 Subwoofers. Both models are designed to provide competition-grade bass performance when installed in small sealed enclosures (.88 cubic ft net volume for the SR104 and 1.2 cubic ft net volume for the SR124).
SR Signature Features:
- Massive die-cast aluminum basket to house the 16 pound motor structure.
- A 2.5 inch glass/epoxy voice coil former wound with four layers of heavy gauge high temperature Aluminum wire provides the highest power handling and reliability.
- Voice coil is bathed in cooling air via an extensive network of vents in the pole piece and basket.
- Specially designed curved vanes smooth the airflow to minimize air turbulence that could cause noise and “chuffing.�
- Dual progressive roll spiders precisely control the cone's long excursion for the ultimate in “tight,� detailed and musical bass.
- Polk's Klippel Distortion Analyzer, which uses laser technology to measure and optimize driver behavior under high output, helps maximize linearity, minimize distortion, flatten and extend frequency response.
- ABS Cone employs catenary geometry for greater distortion damping stiffness.
- NBR (Nitrile Butyl Rubber) Surround damps distortion inducing resonance as it stands up to harsh automotive environments.
- Hex-key terminals (use a 2.5mm Allen key) for clean, professional hookups can accommodate up to 8 gauge speaker wire.

i just bought two of these 12" sr124dvc subs and tell you what they are amazing. Best sounding sub i have ever installed in my car. Before these Polk subs I had a JL W7 12" and that sub is junk compared to the POLK SR124DVC sub. Hands down best sub every nothing is better than this. for the price and quality. **All i need is Polk stickers to put on my ride to advertise for you guys. Send me Stickers please.**

Over all the best sub I have ever owned/ heard. I cant even put into words how happy this sub has made me. Ill stick with Polk 100% for any of my next speaker purchases!

Great ouput, solid bass.
Weaknesses:
Glue holding the voice coil wires to the surround is too minimal. Wires come loose pretty easily if your car is outside in the heat.
Review:
The pound of this sub is incredible. I love Polk Audio and I'll continue to support them. These subs are also stylish too. All around they are great. However there are some flaws with their assembly.

Review:
So when I got my sr124 I first ran it in a sealed box. Anout 1.3ft3 after disp. Was not really happy. Was going from a w7 to this. i got pissed. Sent polks tech guys a email. I got specs for a sealed box. I mean plans, like stupid idiot proof plans. One I put my sub in that box I was as happy as a pig in s#*@. Man it hit hard and deep. No way that sub should be doing that. Like I said I have a w7, and this polk is just as good.

Review:
I've heard good reviews and from a buddy that attented the Polk's Dodge Magnum at the CES Show and was blown away. This is a must have woofer and the first thing on my do buy list when its released in may.

Truely the best sound produced by man today. No need to spend extra on others. This is every mans dream sub, two required. Every type of music sounds perfect with the SR line. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy my music at the highest level.

I own 2 SR 12'S and by far best sub i've heard. I bought 2 more for my other car. I recommend it to everyone i know. i demo my car to anyone and everyone i know. Havent had any complaint yet except for neighbors saying it's tooooo loud.

Everyone Says You Need A Matching Polk Amp To Unleash All Of Its Power, But I Have 2 500watt JL Sub Amps And Im Loud As Anything. A Few Minor Problems But It Was The Amp Being Tweaked All Muffed Up.
