Strengths:

When I need help the tech support is terrific and prompt! Polk is first class all the way!

Weaknesses:

What am I going to do when I want another set - they don't make them anymore!?!

Review:

There are no words to describe these speakers, but beyond compare would be the first to come to mind. I had a realtor in my home and let her listen to my system and she was astounded. She told me that she has been in homes that cost over five million dollars with home theaters that did not compare to my system and the heart of my system are my SRTs.

Strengths:

Couldn't begin to keep myself limited to just two sentences!!!!! I have better sound-quality and much better musical presence with the SRT system than I have ever heard or experienced anywhere. And I have gone out of my way validating these feelings by spending time in some professional recording studios and frequenting as many ultra-high-end Audio retailers as I dared them to impress me.

Weaknesses:

I have lost a couple of the rubber pads and spikes that are supposed to be used between the Subs and the Front R/L speakers when they were moved. Damaged two of the grills when they were moved. Wish I could order spare grills and rubber feet and spikes.

Review:

I purchased my SRT system almost two years ago now and have thrilled my friends with the most incredible audio experience they or I have ever had. After two years now, I still am amazed at how incredibly accurate and precise the system is playing just about any type of music. I would like to think I was a true audiophile, but alas just a tried and true Polk fan from the very early SDA days. I probably will never again in my lifetime invest as much into a home theatre as I did when I purchased my Polk SRT system, but then again I didn't plan on having to I would like to know if more SRT components can be ordered going forward as 6.1, 7.1, and so on DTS and THX audio standards evolve. I am also putting together a PC-based 24/96 Digital recording studio in my home and would like to know with what I already have invested, do I really need to invest in active studio monitors, or am I just going to be disappointed after being spoiled by my SRT system. I purchased the Denon AVR-5700 Ultra-THX receiver, a Toshiba SD-9100 Progressive Scan 480P DVD player, Pioneer LD/DVD player, all Z-series Monster Cable, Mitsubishu Diamond Scan 75" 16/9 Rear Projection TV, Monster Power monitors and power line conditioning equipment, and had two Ebony and Walnut custom 3*4*8ft.(almost 370 lbs. each) audio cabinets custom made which ended up almost costing as much as I had invested in the rest of the system altogether. To this day, I haven't seen anything that can compare with the SRT system. I don't profess to be an expert, but I know what I like and all I have to do is break out some 24/96 SuperAudio, or maybe some Chip Davis DTS recordings to raise the hairs on the back of my neck all over again just like the first day of ownership. I love em , I love em, I love em. Thank you Mathew Polk for making my SRTs, I am amazed there are no other customer reviews on this web site. If someone wants to contact me about my home recording studio endeavor with some ideas or advice, it would be welcome as I have moved home to the midwest (Iowa), and there really isn't anyone here who handles Polk or I would trust with my system if I ever did need service performed. Strengths:

Everything, tight low bass, amazing imaging, full frequenzy range, sheer volume. SDA control box allows perfect setup in any room and they look great.

Weaknesses:

The neighbours, haha. Why did Polk stop manufacturing these??? I know that Cinepro did some systems with these speakers running 600 - 800 watts rms a couple of years ago but nothing since.

Review:

From the moment I first heard them, wow, never before have I felt shivers up and down my spine listening to music or movies and after owning them for 3 years now I still get a buzz every time I use them. Those that have heard these speakers will understand that it is impossible to do them justice in words, they must be heard to be believed. From the loudest of explosions to the simplest of slight background noise in a movie, or the vocal clarity or instrument reproduction in music I never cease to be amazed. Thanks Polk Audio.

Review:

I was one of the first to order the SRT when it came out several years ago.Mattew Polk himself called me to congratulate me! I'll never forget it because it gave me the privilege of personally thanking him and his whole team for such a success. I did write him a letter, but I want everyone to know what I think of this achievment. I am an organist and I had never before been able to appreciate recordings of my instrument the way I still do with this awesome system. It never ceases to amaze me. And you don't have to drive people crazy with overly loud volume. As recording technology improves, these speakers need only remain the same in what they reproduce. Friends come over to exerience music, not listen to it. As Matthew Polk told me that day he called, the subs will "shake your pant cuffs!" And so they do. BRAVO, POLK!!!

Without exaggeration, these are simply the finest home theater speakers on the planet!

Well, although the Polk engineers worked out all of the weaknesses, the fact that the system is discontinued clearly falls in this category!

Review:

I used to work as a home theater installer, so I’ve been involved in quite a number of great home theaters. Once upon a time, while working with a dealership, I helped with a major whole-house audio system in a very high end house in Aspen, Colorado. In the center of this house was located the truly gorgeous home theater. And the crowning glory of the theater: A Polk Audio SRT system. During the testing phase I was truly dumbfounded by the capability of this system. It handles every sonic task across the frequency spectrum and volume gamut with a level of precision and grace that I have not experienced before or since in a home (of any size). On that day I decided that I had to get a system of my own… I have owned my SRT system for about six years now - and in that time I have never been disappointed by my purchase – not once! They have performed like champions in three houses now – and in each instance, the robust design of the system has allowed me to achieve the same amazing performance under different room conditions. What’s more, while moving I needed to contact Polk due to a little “accident” with my prized system, I was treated as only Polk can do: The problem was dealt with quickly, professionally, and with no hassle whatsoever. Companies with this level of quality in both product and customer service are few and far between – and for that I’d like to thank you Polk Audio, and Matthew Polk specifically. Some years ago, at the age of 15, I worked to save up and start my relationship with Polk Audio with a pair of LS70 speakers. The adventure continues to this day with Polk in my car, business, and with a little suggestion from me, other people’s homes! Through all of this, one thing is for certain: although the SRT system is discontinued, I will never part with my SRT’s… everything else seems a disappointment! Review:

I have owned my system for 6 yrs now and everyday I turn up that volume it is just a heart pounding experience, rather it's wathing a action movie or rocking to some guns and roses. It's the most thrilling experience other then a roller coster. Thank-You Mister Polk for having the insite to such a fantastic system it's now part of my family..laughing...

Strengths:

Extreme power and clairity. Not a miss on anything. I even have had a couple of blown speakers on the system. The problem is that you don't know a speaker has blown unless you inspect the system. It's that clear still!

Weaknesses:

Blown speakers. Repaired under warranty. I have some rattle, I believe it is due to the feet of the subs being loose. I still need to get that fixed. After that it should be back to 100% again!

Review:

I have proudly owned the SRT system for a number of years now. I am extremely happy with the system overall. I have had many visits by the police due to listening too loud!! I cannot explain in words how clear the speakers are. Sometimes when I have a movie playing and there is a phone ring or knock on the door, you actually check your door but nobody is there. It duplicates life-like events to a "T".
