The Bookshelf Speaker with the Heart of a Tower Speaker
Floorstanding tower speakers can be a tad overwhelming, we admit it. They can take over a room, especially a small one. So, in your small to midsize room, consider a bookshelf loudspeaker that can sit on a shelf or a stylish stand and deliver the same powerful impact and wide dynamic range as a tower without overwhelming the decor. The TSi200 is a the perfect introduction to audiophile-grade bookshelf speaker performance, in an elegant design, at a rational price.
TSi200 Features:
Unlike other speakers in this price range, TSi enclosures are constructed of extensively braced, solid MDF with three-quarter-inch baffles. This virtually eliminates internal resonances and damps energy-stealing vibrations, for more efficient operation and more transparent sound.
Beautiful pewter accents, a high gloss piano-finish black top plate and your choice of stylish black or cherry wood-grain finishes make TSi speakers a part of your decor.
Polk’s proprietary, patented Dynamic Balance® technology allows our engineers to design out distortion-causing driver and system resonances, so you only hear the good sounds.
Klippel motor optimization uses laser measurement technology to ensure a smooth excursion path at either end of the volume spectrum for uniform performance at both low and high volumes.
TSi design combines smaller drivers (for more overall driver area with less driver mass) and narrow baffle geometry, for wider range and more spacious soundstaging, so every seat in the house hears a prime performance.
Unlike horns or metal domes, silk dome tweeters deliver clear and detailed highs, without fatigue, even at high volume.
Durable, efficient, and tuned with our Dynamic Balance process, TSi Series polymer cones produce smooth, natural sound.
Surprisingly deep, musical bass response thanks to our critically tuned flared port venting system, which minimizes port noise (“chuffing”) and smooths the turbulence of port air flow, to reveal big, full-bodied bass that blends effortlessly with the speaker’s overall dynamics.
All Polk loudspeakers are timbre-matched within their series, designed with the same components throughout, to achieve seamless speaker-to-speaker blending effects in multi-channel systems.
Our high efficiency design results in sound that’s spacious and clear, warm and realistic, when combined with practically any electronics, even the most modestly-powered amplifer or receiver.
Our high performance crossover system boosts performance with premium components, like mylar bypass capacitors, to extend response in the higher, more detail-oriented frequencies.
Gold-plated, professional-style 5-way binding posts, for the most secure connection options.
All Polk products are made using the best materials and the most advanced manufacturing techniques. They pass the industry’s most exhaustive quality tests, including drop testing, extreme signal response and UV & salt exposure testing. Polk loudspeakers are built to perform for a lifetime.

Afraid my neighbors are going to be knocking soon.

I have the 200's as fronts and the 100's as rears...WHAT A GREAT DESIGN AND QUAILiTY...I cant wait for them to break in.People can always say you can step up to another level but I honestly believe the tsi bookshelf line can stand up to the rti and hold there own.I love them. Thanks polk! -

Great range, good looks
Weaknesses:
the glossy top needs frequent dusting...but I have a sleeve.
Review:
I bought these four months ago after loving my previous purchase of a CS10 center. These were upgrade gifts to myself. (and she likes it too!) I've got RM30's for fronts and a modest but under estimated (until people hear it) PSW110 sub. I have Recently I put the TSI200's on stands with the tweets at the same height as the center tweet. That = Sweet! The TSI200's were what I was looking for, to bring the room to life. Amazing clarity and depth even at house shaking volume and your ears don't mind a bit. Polk is Great!

Smooth overall sound and nice appearance for the money.
Weaknesses:
Lacking some what in high-end extension and resolution. Needs a subwoofer for full-range listening (especially in a larger space).
Review:
Overall these are good speakers for the money. Smooth, classic polk sound. Easy to drive, sounds good with a variety of music. Packaging - Unboxing these reveals adequate (barely) packaging, with fitted foam surrounds bottom and top. Could use extra padding around the sides, but order with confidence as polk will take care of you if something happens in shipping. Fit and finish - my sample came in the black vinyl veneer, and although it does not look as good as the real wood finish on the rti As, it does look very nice and not at all fake. With the grill on you have a fairly plain appearance, but they look cool on stands. Take the grill off and the speaker takes on a much more modern appearance. I would definitely want to mount these naked. A definite step up from the monitor series appearance wise, and definitely a step below the rti A series (I have owned both). In other words, just what you would expect. Sound - I tried these in two different systems. In the office they were connected to a harman kardon hk3370 70 wpc stereo receiver with an old creative zen media player as the server. They work well in this setup. Highs are smooth and fairly detailed, a little laid back unlike the rti A, so keep that in mind if you prefer a more laid back sound. Highs sounded a little course a first, but seemed to smooth out with break in so keep that in mind. mids are smooth are fairly revealing. Bass is decent for a bookshelf, but I did expect a little more based on the size and the double woofer. Not to say there wasn't any bass. It was more than satisfying in an office setting where the volume never gets cranked, and I listen to lots of jazz combos, fusion, and down-tempo electronica with pretty heavy bass and it was satisfying, but I almost always want more without a sub ;-) Next I took them home and tried them out in my main system with a hk avr 630 (90wpc) and and mirage bps-150i subwoofer. They definitely opened up nicely in this context. The harshness in the highs disappeared, and the subwoofer (crossed over at 80 hz) made up for the slightly lacking bass. Herbie Hancock's letters from Joni is a great demo cd, with lush piano, a tenor with great tone, and brash strokes on the the snare and cymbols that can be pushed too far into the background with certain speakers. This album sounded very good overall. The upright bass had nice woodiness to it, the cymbals were easy to discern (if a touch mellow), and CNorah Jones's voice was as it should be. Having said that, the airiness around the symbols and the breathiness and woodiness of the tenor did not come through as it does with my LSI7s, but that is to be expected. The retail for about 40% the price of the lsis, and you get a lot more than that percentage of the sound quality. Overall these speakers are a great option at their pricepoint for music and definitely for a home theater setup. Of course, it depends on your preferences and you can get more for more money, but at the retail price you can a very good deal, as always, with the polks.

DEEP CLEAR BASE. PURE MID'S AND CLEAN HIGHS. DESIGN, QUALITY AND PRICE.
Weaknesses:
Absolutely none.
Review:
Incredibly clean and rich full bodied sound from this bookshelf speaker! I use them as side speakers in a 7.1 HT system along with tsi100's as rears, tsi400's as fronts and the tsiCS10 as the center. Unmatchable Home theater or music speaker setup by any speaker company for this amount of money and beating all most any at four times the cost of these great Polk's! I really believe the TSI series is the best speaker Polk has today. With porting out of the bottom ( tsi500, tsi400 and tsi300 ) being the key design element that makes these main floor loud speakers the best in the market for not only this price range but also for those costing thousands more! Excellent job Polk!!!

Anything perfect about a speaker that you can imagine comes with these two speakers
Weaknesses:
the weakness box is pointless for TSi 200s
Review:
I'm guessing that this hasn't been reviewed much because people are to busy partying to these speakers, not because they suck. These speakers are tremendously powerful and clear!!! After listening to my first song on these speakers, I fell in love with them. I honestly cannot complain about any aspect of these speakers and I would defend any critiques toward them. I highly recommend the purchase of these speakers to anybody!

Warm,b ut not too warm - neutral, full, clear.
Weaknesses:
Natural limits of an entry-level bookshelf, of course.
Review:
These Polks are everything I was looking for in an entry-level bookshelf. I had some experiences with Polks at realtives' houses when I was a child, and have always had a soft spot for them - so I was really pleased when I looked around and found that they were still at the top of the game. I looked at comparable speakers by Wharfedale, PSB, Boston Acoustics, and Infinity, but the Polks were the most mature, richest sound in all ranges - truly exception for $300 (what I paid at Amazon). You can't go wrong.

They look and sound great. Very efficient speaker and worked well with my modest receiver.
Weaknesses:
These would be tough to mount on a wall.
Review:
These speakers are very nice. These really sound great in my system as surrounds. I've used them for a little bit as my front L and R. They sound good as fronts but I would recommend adding a subwoofer. As surrounds these are awesome. They create a much bigger sound than my smaller surround speakers.

First personal experience with Polk Audio and I'm very impressed. I've been an audio installer for 15 years, and these are a solid buy.
Weaknesses:
Rear port... look into the JL audio H.O. boxes for their W7 car subwoofers (google images). Given they've pattented the box design, but you may be able to crunch your own numbers and come up with something better.
Review:
The ability to Bi-amp these speakers makes all the difference. True linear responce (I've RTA'd it), for your money on a "full-range" 2.1 system, best of the best.

Big for a bookshelf speaker
Review:
Soft, rich and deep sounding. Great for music, bur subtle enough for quiet movies. I have yet to find a drawback, perfect option for someone looking for floorstanding sound in a bookshelf speaker. Careful with demensions, they are bigger than what they seem in pictures!

Purchased a new home entertainment system. Bought the CS20, TSi200,PSW125, and TSi500 speakers. This setup rocks! The sound is incredible! I'm running them through a 5 channel Pioneer receiver, and there isn't any distortion. Nice even sound heard throughout a 2,000 sq. ft. house.

Top Notch Clarity. Deep, full sound.
Weaknesses:
Gigantic for a shelf.
Review:
Using with a Definitive (Pro center 1000)Center Channel and a Polk Audio(PSW110). Denon (AVR 1912) Receiver. As soon as I can I'll upgrade my center channel. These speaker, for the money, are excellent. They are a bit big if your looking for space savers, but the clarity and range is well worth it. Well built, the Piano black top is a little confusing but looks nice. I would recommend every time.
