Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoughts on XT20 pair… Replaced a pair of t15’s with the xt20. Didn’t realize how much more I was getting with these, but the addition of these rounded out the sound quality I was missing with the t15’s as front left and right surround.

Are this 4 or 8 ohms? It can't be both right? My receiver is a Sony and I can choose between 6 and 8 ohms What do I do?

Asked by: Giovanni
Hello, the Polk Audio XT20 draws 8ohm on average. With most speakers, the ohm resistance will fluctuate during playback depending on the content and volume level. I suggest setting your receiver to 8ohm.

What cables do I use for these and do you guys carry them, and are the powered speakers? I want to hook this up with my turntables and mixer

Asked by: Lilman714
Hello, these speakers are passive and not powered. They require an amp or receiver to be powered. They use bare speaker wire or banana plugs to be connected and powered. You can hook this up to a turntable that is connected to an amp or receiver. A mixer likely does not power the speakers enough to run these unless the mixer has a built in amp.

Yamaha RX-390 with Quasar SW372 & Quasar SBW100 and it pumps it out, if I go past -34db the neighbor pounds on the wall, I ignore him, just bought the XT15 for the llving room and it doesn't do the trick, will the XT20 keep up & make me smile?

Asked by: tainbey
The XT20 is a great speaker but considering what other speakers you are pairing them with, you may find some floor standing speakers to be the better option if you space allows for it. The XT60 or XT70 would go great with that subwoofer and help shake up your space a bit.

Can xt20 be wall mounted?

Asked by: Jrpeters40
Hello, the XT20 cannot be wall-mounted. However, a sturdy wall shelf can be used to set the speaker on. Be sure that the shelf is rated to hold at least 15 lbs or more.

Will these sync well with Signa S4 soundbar and subwoofer? Can you recommend a pair if not?

Asked by: Sofii
Hello, The Signa S4 is a standalone sound bar and subwoofer system with no option to add surround speakers. The XT20 speakers also require an amp or receiver to power them and will not function with any sound bar.

I have a Denon AVR-S540BT amp paired with the XT20s. I was playing music from Youtube with the volume at 70 (goes to 100 so nowhere near driving it). Denon amp went into "speaker protection mode" and shut down. Why would that happen?

Asked by: Mark 59
Hello Mark, There may be a few different reasons as to why an AVR would enter protection mode but usually it's due to the unit overheating. Please ensure there is enough space around the AVR to allow it to vent heat properly. This may also be a good question to reach out to Denon about as they can provide you more information specific to the AVR-S540BT.

I just ordered a set of these on Amazon and I have an Onkyo TX-NR6100 av receiver. Did I make a mistake in ordering these.

Asked by: Gulfraider
Hello, our speakers are rated for 30 watts → 200 watts, your receiver will supply enough power to drive our speakers. Happy listening.
