Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speakers I don't normally write reviews but, have had these for quite sometime and they sound good. I am writing because apparently hurricane Ian did not like what I was playing through them last night and pulled one off the ceiling. It fell, cracked and still works. Due to the crack, it doesn't sound the same, but still works well. I would buy these again and recommend them as well. Thanks Polk Audio.

Are theses compatible with Sonos systems

Hello, the Polk Audio Patio 200 outdoor speakers can be connected to a Sonos Amp. A hardline speaker connection between the Speakers and Sonos amp is required. Are these waterproof?  Can they be exposed to rain or do they need to be protected?

Hello, the Patio 200 speakers are weather resistant and designed for outdoor patio use (mounted under a patio cover). They are built to last, resisting outdoor elements such as moisture caused by dew or mist and hot and cold weather. For uncovered outdoor use, please consider our Atrium series. The Atrium outdoor speakers are Built to withstand the worst elements, salt-fog, UV, extreme temps, or heavy rains; you name it.

Do you need a receiver? Or is there an app needed? I only ask because I have a SONOS system and I needed all that. I’m looking to get this for a friend and need to know if I need something else to connect to before connecting to music app.

Hi dnaly, Good question. From a functional point of view, the Patio 200 are regular speakers built for outdoor use. They are not self-powered in any way because of their exposure to the elements when used outside. They will need to have their power/signal fed to them via speaker wire from a receiver or amplifier. They do not have bluetooth built-in, and there is no app for the Patio 200s.

How watts per speaker can they handle ???

The speakers are designed for 50w per speaker and have a peak power handling of 100w before damage is likely.
