At CES 2018, the demand for voice control technology was clear. Amazon Alexa was featured in a bevy of devices, while the growing capacity of voice continues to take shape throughout the home.
There’s also a growing shift toward bringing a true theater experience to your living room with robust component systems. Denon announced the AVR-X8500H 13.2 channel receiver, opening up the home to an unprecedented 7.1.6 or 9.1.4 configuration for Dolby Atmos, 13.2 configuration for Auro-3D and a DTS:X integration as well. In step with Denon, Marantz released a 13.2 channel pre-amplifier that similarly supports three-dimensional audio formats.
During day two of CES 2018, Polk debuted the latest home theater technology — the Command Bar, the sound bar system with Alexa built-in. It offers seamless voice control and smart home connectivity coupled with the great sound Polk offers. And because the Command Bar combines voice-automation with powerful, audioholic sound, Polk secured an HD Guru award as well as an AVS Forum Best of CES nod.
