Hello, The speaker itself is not fire resistant but can be placed inside an enclosure that is fire rated. It is recommend that it is placed inside an enclosure if there will be anything that could potentially touch the rear of the speaker like insulation.

Hello, Since 8ohms is a higher resistance compared to 6ohms, there will be a constriction of power going into the speakers themselves. In essence, almost all of our in wall speakers will be okay to use with this AVR and as long as you are not driving them excessively loud, then you will be safe to use them.

Hi Red Wolf, It is a good idea to make a back for any in-wall speaker if there are concerns about insulation being in contact with the rear of the loudspeaker. Spirited volume levels can cause the voice coil to get warmer than might be safe.
