Polk Audio Celebrates 40-Years Of High Fidelity With A New Look And Feel
Company Introduces a New Logo and Website
BALTIMORE, MD, July 12, 2012 – Polk Audio®, the Speaker Specialists®, announced today a plan to reinvigorate its brand presence as the Baltimore-based company celebrates its company’s 40th anniversary as a leader in high-performance audio.
The distinctive brand and positioning, which includes a new logo and website, will engage all who enjoy music and video – from hardcore audiophiles who continue to enjoy their vinyl collection to those who have fully embraced the digital revolution.
“As we take stock of where we are as a company, we are quite proud of our achievements over the past four decades,” explained Ben Newhall, Polk Audio’s Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. “However, we’ve seen exciting changes in both the audio and overall consumer electronics industries, especially in the recent past.”
“Polk has steadily and deliberately adapted to evolving consumer needs, with innovative speaker designs and our inaugural selection of high performance headphones,” said Newhall. “Now the time is right to renew our branding and our logo as well as our efforts in communicating the compelling story around our products and people. We are inspired and excited to be able to tell the Polk story to a new generation of consumers while remaining true to our core competencies.”
Polk Audio worked with San Francisco-based Frog Design on the newest evolution of the logo and branding. These changes are part of a larger internal discussion of potential new products and markets, but the immediate goal is to present its current offerings to an increasingly diverse audience.
“Our first logo – with the heart dotting the ‘i’ – was a reflection of our personality, values and love of audio,” said Al Ballard, Polk’s VP of Marketing. “Today, we have a slew of new faces mixed with longtime Polk veterans, all contributing new ideas while sharing the same passion for audio. The new logo is a salute to our past and a promise to ourselves and to our customers that our dedication to and love of great sound will remain our true inspirations.”
