Audiophile performance, cutting-edge stealth design

Reflective surfaces in rooms can make sound brighter and cause image distortion. Engaging the Vanishing reflective room compensation feature (by selecting the low setting) lowers the tweeter level to compensate for reflective surfaces. Vanishing reflective room compensation is a custom audio control that cuts the level only in the 4-5kHz range, exactly where reflectivity destroys sound quality. Outside this narrow 1kHz band, the tweeter retains its detailed and accurate high frequency response, for no loss of realistic musical details.

Questions

I am finishing my basement and am planning on running 6 of these with the Reserve R350 center channel. Would I gain any performance if I created an enclosure for each speaker? If so, what would be the ideal size?

Asked by: Ham Laker
Hello, It is worth experimenting with. There is a good case to be made it probably being able to provide sonic gains. There are so many variables regarding speaker enclosure affect on performance that the best way to discover one way or another is to try it out. A lot of it depends on what the enclosure is made of, what size you make the enclosure, how solid the joints of the enclosure might be, your room shape and size, where in the room they are mounted, your expectations, and what kind of sound you prefer. This is why it isn't possible to offer a conclusive answer.
