Questions

Would the MM 842 DVC be more suited with a ported enclosure with polyfill or sealed enclosure with no polyfill ? dthe MM 842

Asked by: Joe Cu
Either or can work with this speaker, there are some minimum and maximum values to the volume of the enclosures that we can recommend. For the 842 the minimum for a sealed would be 0.5 cu. ft. and the max would be 1.2 cu. ft. whereas vented can change slightly with the minimum being 0.66 cu. ft. and the max being 1.2 cu. ft. To answer the other question you posted, that size would work just fine for these speakers.

I have the MM842 DVC rated 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms and 900 peak. Because it is 300 watts RMS DVC does that mean it is 600 watts rms?

Asked by: Joe Cu
Hello Joe, The MM842 DVC is comfortable working with an amplifier with a maximum potential wattage output of 300 watts (RMS). Please do not overdrive these speakers as that can cause damage to them.
