In wall outdoor covered use.Replaced some older in wall outdoor speakers. Definitely an upgrade and sound great. We’ll have to see how they handle Ohio winters.
For my pair of front RC85i, which central channel is more recommended, the R300 or ES35?

Either center channel will work great with the RC85i, the thing to note is that the reserve series is a higher end center channel which will provide more clarity and better sound but regardless, both options are well suited to match with the RC85i.

I have some RC85i to put them as a front but I don't have enough space on the wall as the manual says (2 ft Minimum separated from the TV) can I install them as ceiling speakers? I already have a couple of RC80i as rear ceiling speakers.

Hello,
These RC85i speakers are not designed to be installed into the ceiling. The drivers would end up firing down and reflecting off the ground which would cause them to not sound great. If possible, we would still highly recommend that they are installed in the wall.

Hello,
These speakers are designed using an infinite baffle design that does not require a back box or enclosed area to work best. In fact, they work best with more space behind them, the way you describe the wall shows that it will work well in that wall and provide you great sound.

Hello, yes, by connecting one RC85i to the Left surround output of your receiver and the other to the Right output. The RC85i in-wall speakers are sold in pairs and will make for excellent surround/side speakers.

When hooking these up I am only getting sound from the tweeter but nothing from the driver. I have tested my connection with other speakers and double checked all the connections on the speaker. I've tried 3 different new speakers. What am I missing?
