Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value I’ve e tried Kef R7 Meta, Martin Logan XT100, Martin Logan ESLX, and a few others around the 4k price range and I have to say The L600 is the best all around performer with a nice full midrange, deep bass, smooth high end and doesn’t fatigue after hours of listening. And of course pairing with the the right amplifier to achieve the ultimate synergy is recommended. I’m using an Ayon Spirit 75 watt all class A tube amp with lots of current that can power down 2 ohms with no problem, PS. Audio front end, and Kimber cables. I mainly stream from Tidal via hard wire Ethernet. Also, the fit and finish is very high-end. Good job by you, Polk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Speaker. I have watched and learned from many YouTube videos about Audiophiles Speakers and Crossovers, I have the Polk L600 Tower which are a perfect speaker but was not reviewed, No YouTuber Audiophile ever gave a Speaker a perfect rating until now. There are only 2 speakers on YouTube that got a perfect rating and it was from Denis Robinson he rated the R700 as near perfect he gave it a 9 and I guess that is why there out of stock, and the Wharfedale Elysian 4 a perfect 10. I am not saying the Polk L600 Tower are a 10 base on the R700 as near perfect but because the sound stage is wide and man do I mean wide I watching Infinite Storm on VUDU and in the parking lot the car to the left when they shut the door I look over to the left like I was actually in the movie to see who was shutting the door, and in the end when they were in the cafeteria I could hear the people talking behind me even though I do not have rear speakers it filled my whole room as thou I was transported to the cafeteria. I am very impressed with the Polk L600 Tower. The sound stage is Wide Transparent holographic. They disappear and have no coloration. They pick up the sound signature of Audiophile speakers on YouTube so I don't have to buy $250,000 plus speakers. I can just enjoy watching them on my Sony 85" X800H Like I am there. Life has never been so GOOD. I don't know if these speakers require a brake in period I just came home one day and they went form exceptional to a whole another demission.

Questions

I have both the RTiA9 and the LSiM707. After using both in my set up for years at a time, the A9 outperforms the LSiM707 for 2ch listening. That being said, what could I expect from the L600 regarding detail and depth?

Asked by: Geoff4RFC
First, thank you for being a Polk Audio fan. Both the RTiA9 and LSiM707 are excellent speakers with their own strengths. The new L600 speakers have improvements over both RTiA9 and LSi707 speakers. They present a wonderful image with both detail and depth. The Pinnacle Ring Radiator Tweeter, Turbine Mid-Range Driver, and Power Port have been redesigned, offering a natural but powerful reproduction of sound. We offer a 60-day return policy when purchased directly from our webpage. However, we are confident that you will not be disappointed with the L600 speakers. https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/product/home-speakers/floor-standing/legend-l600/125057.html?dwvar_125057_color=Black

How do these compare to the R700 in terms of imaging and soundstage?

Asked by: Santafred
Hello, Both offer the ability to impress when it comes to imaging and sound stage, but you can expect to hear a wider presentation with soundstaging from the L Series. Overall, the L Series will sound more refined - not least because of the Power Port technology being utilized, and the extra detail in the lower frequencies it produces.

What are the dimensions of the legend L600 cabinets without the bases?

Asked by: Camel
Hi Camel, It is recommended not to remove the base from the speaker as it is a functional coponent. Doing so will prevent the power port from operating well, and may result in added noise and rattling. The width and depth of the cabinet without the base is 9" x 16.8" 45.51" is the overall height without the base.

How do the L600 sound compared to the RTI-A9 from Polk ? I am currently using them. How loud can the L600 play ? I can push the RTIa9 to about 115 db still clear.

Asked by: Smith68
Hello, We are reluctant to recommend listening at levels exceeding 96 dB owing to the potential damage which can be done to our hearing beyond that level. That being said, the L600 are quite different in their design and have a sound which is proving to be very popular among those who have taken some time to get to know them. They are capable of playing very loudly.

How long do the L600s need to be run in for to reach their best performance?

Asked by: Ausvoy
I think they sound great wright out of the box. But around 20 hours they will really start singing. And about around 100 hours you are in audio bliss.

Yes. For all types. This speaker does it all well, and bottom end is the foundation for the mids up.
