Does the ES35 have mounting holes?

Hello JamesFun, yes, the Polk Audio ES35 speaker comes equipped with Keyhole slots on the back, allowing for Vertical or Horizontal installation. It can be used as a center channel, Right/Left front, or Right/Left surround.

I have the RS85i in my walls for the front speakers. Would the ES35 pair well with those for my center channel? Or do you recommend something different?

Hello, The ES35 is a good pairing for the RS85i speakers you already own. None of the center channels are specifically timbre matched to the inwall speakers but the ES35 does mesh very well with those RS85i speakers.

I would like to ceiling mount my ES35 speaker above the screen. Can you recommend good speaker mounting brackets? Also is the plastic wall mount attached to the back of the speaker strong enough to hold the speaker weight when ceiling mounted?

Hello, keyhole slots are provided on the back of the ES35 speaker. Unfortunately, I do not have any brackets to recommend, as the speaker, when mounted, should be firmly mounted to the wall.

Hello. I have some space issues, so may I use the ES35 as central speaker on the wall under the TV, ES15 as left and right channels, and use my 4 in ceiling Definitive Tech DI6.5 as rear channels and Dolby Atmos (5.1.2)?

Can the white speaker grill be painted?

Hello, these grilles are not designed to be painted. You may be able to have someone dye it for you if they are familiar with working with the acoustic cloth but it is not something we can recommend and support.

Could I connect an external amplifier to this center channel or would it be to much power my fronts are the ES20S I'm thinking of the emotiva basx a3 ?

Hello, the Polk Audio ES35 center speakers' suggested amplification is 20-150 watts at 8ohms with a sensitivity rating of 88dB, the same as the ES20. This makes the speaker relatively easy to drive. After a quick look at the amplifier's specifications, it should match the ES35 and ES20 speakers well.

Hello, We would wager it sounds better but of course that is entirely up to the listener. There has been some upgrades in the design that has helped the ES35 improve, we would recommend seeking out a demo at an authorized dealer to hear for yourself.

Hello, Can the ES35 be mounted on a soundboard type mount below the TV? My TV is over the chimney mantle. Looking to install a TV mount that can swivel down to eye level, however when lowered, the speaker would be sitting behind TV.
