In wall outdoor covered use.Replaced some older in wall outdoor speakers. Definitely an upgrade and sound great. We’ll have to see how they handle Ohio winters.

RC85i - Get them! Excellent sound!I just added RC85i to home theater room. Wow! The RC85i give us the true surround sounds feeling of emersion into the shows and movies we're watching. I've already jumped out of my seat a couple of times with the excellent sounds I'm receiving. I"ve got it RC85i as surround back speakers in the walls paired with an AVR-X2700h. all of it fabulous!
I am wanting to install these speakers in a wall that the back side isn't inclosed with drywall. the framing is pushed tight against the basement exterior insulation but im sure there is a bunch of air caps. Will this be a problem wit

Hello,
These speakers are designed using an infinite baffle design that does not require a back box or enclosed area to work best. In fact, they work best with more space behind them, the way you describe the wall shows that it will work well in that wall and provide you great sound.

Hello, yes, by connecting one RC85i to the Left surround output of your receiver and the other to the Right output. The RC85i in-wall speakers are sold in pairs and will make for excellent surround/side speakers.

When hooking these up I am only getting sound from the tweeter but nothing from the driver. I have tested my connection with other speakers and double checked all the connections on the speaker. I've tried 3 different new speakers. What am I missing?

Hello, all of our In-Wall/In-Ceiling speakers are Infinite Baffle designs. No back box enclosures are recommended. If an enclosure is necessary, the sealed enclosure volume should be 1.2 cubic feet. This does include driver displacement. We recommend installing 1/2 to 3/4's of a pound of Dacron to dampen the enclosure.
